  1. It’s good for him to play down there everyday until they need him in the big show. He’s only 22 and a hard worker. Arod got sent down 5 times.

  2. He needs to be playing every single day. The OF and DH spots are set at the MLB level and having him play once a week isnt going to help him. He needs the reps from the right side at the plate and, even more importantly, in the field. Someone will get hurt and he'll be up. But for now this is the best move for his development as an every day player.

  3. look, The Yankees need a 4th outfielder so if not Jasson who? Jasson would be better served to begin the season on the opening day roster, be with the guy's, Judge, Grish, Stanton even if he isn't starting. Being on the roster will be best for continuing his development and he should see playing time, OF, DH, pinch hit most every game! If not Jasson then who?
Anything short of a 2026 WS Championship would be a failure, Right Judge? Right Grish? Right Stanton?

  4. The harder you hit the balll does not equal base hits, you need to control where you hit the ball as well. Why would you remove half your flexibility? Imagine if pool players focused soley on how hard they can hit the ball, the analytics are being taken out of context. I know I'm correct because MLB had to actually outlaw the shift because no one can control where they hit the ball anymore because they focus on crushing the ball All the time, instead of part of the time or in certain counts and matchups. This is why they Yankees are able to feast on bad teams and then lose to good teams. The prevailing wisdom of the age will say I'm wrong, but since when have the majority of people been ahead of the curve?

  5. @firesideyankees Ryan Garcia it’s realistic that the Yankees should let Jasson Dominguez to start in Triple A let him work on hitting against lefties and working on his defense in the outfield according to Joe Caputo of TheShift last Friday!

  6. If they aren't going to trade him then they might as well send him down and let him play every day so he can devote playing every position in the outfield and hit right handed. Both Jones and Rodriguez should play every day because they can't be on the bench.

  7. This is absolutely insanely stupid… The Yankees season rests on the fact they need atleast two of Jasson Dominguez, Spencer Jones and Cam Schlittler to really take the next step and become all stars because Trent Grisham is absolutely going to take a huge step backwards. If Grisham goes back to struggling with the Mendoza line then there season is going to hinge on Jones or Dominguez really taking the next step and replacing that production that Grisham somehow gave you last year…. I include Schlittler in there because I would except Cole to need most of the year to knock the rust off so they really need Schlittler to take the next step and Lead this staff until Cole gets back. Fried is an excellent number 2 but he’s always been just that, a #2, I would not feel confident in fried outdueling other teams #1’s but Schlittler can if he takes the next step. I would expect Rice and Jazz to play equal to or better then last year and I would expect one of Wells or Volpe to play much better then what you got last year. McMahon, Stanton ,Goldschmidt, Fried, Rondon, Gill and Warren will prolly give you what you got last year so it really all comes down to one of Jones or Dominguez really taking the next step in order to replace Grisham and Schlittler to take the next step to replace what Cole would have gave you with a healthy regular season…… I understand this is highly unlikely but this is the position that Hal has put the Yankees in where he won’t spend the money needed in order to compete with the Dodger so there only path is banking on internal developments

  8. I think the problem with Dominguez is he isn’t “ballsy” enough, if you watch his defence he doesn’t attack the ball enough, and when he is at the wall he jumps an tries to catch the ball WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE BALL

  9. There is zero chance the Yankees informed Jon Heyman that they're sending Dominguez to the minors before Spring Training camp is open. The 4th OFer role gets plenty of ABs over the course of the season. Even if they have discussed the idea as a potential scenario depending how things break in camp, they wouldn't say that because so many things can happen between now and Opening Day. Heyman with nonsense. Now if they signed Grichuk? Yes, then Dominguez goes down. Right now there is a clear role for Dominguez.

  10. I greatly prefer sending him down than trading him for likely a weak return. One maybe crazy question: I often felt like his fielding was bad because he was uncomfortable reading the ball against the multi-level stands that you get in the MLB stadiums (not the minors). Is that a possible thing? Has any other player ever mentioned that as an adjustment factor?

  11. I understand your reasoning, but we're in this situation to begin with because Jasson hasn't lived up to expectations. How did everybody seem to miss his lack of outfield ability and ability to hit from the right side?

  12. Stanton will miss half the season lol he'll get the AB who else will be the 4th OF. But I understand on the other hand that he needs to Play every day. I wish they didn't tender Grisham that deal. Jason is major leaguer he doesn't belong in the minors he just needs to Play. So I understand sending him down for reps but they should of let Grisham go. I can't see him hitting 34 homeruns again.

  13. Trade him to someone who will play him. He could probably be an every day starter elsewhere. Get something back for him while he’s young enough to have big value
