Every Pens (and NHL) fan knows about Mario's "five goals five ways" game, but that was Mario's second eight-point game that season, scoring twice and assisting six times just two-and-a-half months earlier in a game against the Blues on October 15, 1988. Just four months later, on April 25, 1989, Lemieux scored four goals in the first period in a playoff game against the Flyers to become the only NHL player to have three eight-point games.
