  1. As long as I can use my MLBPAA discount, I don’t really care how I get my MLB.TV

  2. What will this mean to us who live outside of the United States? Do we also need ESPN subscription?

  3. I wonder how this will affect the free subscriptions given to T-Mobile users every season

  4. >MLB.tv is now behind a double paywall. You’ll need to purchase MLB.tv, which is priced at $150 per season for new subscribers and $135 for returning subscribers, in addition to the ESPN Unlimited plan, which is $30 per month.

    >Now, there are some caveats. MLB.tv offers a free month of ESPN Unlimited upon signup. MLB.tv subscribers can cancel the ESPN Unlimited subscription during their free trial and still retain access to MLB.tv throughout the entire season.

That’s so fucking stupid and an even worse omen for future seasons

  5. Yeah as an existing subscriber who is expecting to auto-renew this month, what is going to happen? I’ll still be charged for mlb.tv but won’t be able to access anything without also getting espn+?

  6. They keep doing dumb shit like this and then they have the gall to then ask why baseball isn’t resonating with younger audiences.

  7. Where does it say so officially, as in not through some rage baiting aggregator? Even the MLB link they offer is a non active staging page (i.e. not final).

  8. So if I get ESPN networks with my cable subscription (well, Hulu Live TV), I’ll just have to pay the MLB.TV price? I’m confused lol

  9. a lot of comments, and it seems something is being missed. You can cancel the ESPN Unlimited. Subscribe, take the free trial of Unlimited, then cancel it. You keep MLB TV.

  10. Damn I hope this doesn’t effect the fathers day deal Ive taking advantage of, $60/yr

  11. This shit should honestly not be legal. The amount of people that will not understand this and then forget to cancel if they DO figure it out will be high.

  12. Screw this, just on principle I won’t do it. I wonder what the MLBPAA thinks about this. A bunch of people (including me) donate to MLBPAA to get the 50% off [MLB.TV](http://MLB.TV) deal. Without it, there goes a bunch of donations.

  13. I’ve attempted to buy mlb.tv multiple times. In my area according to the mlb website, the only team blacked out are the Reds. After I purchase I discover the Cubs, Reds, White Sox, Cardinals are all blacked out. Literally every team that has a fan base in the area. Pointless to own for me honestly.

  14. I’m ok with this as long as I can take advantage of the free T-Mobile and YouTube TV rolls out the included ESPN Unlimited subscription promised a few months ago. I’d rather watch games in the ESPN app.

What really needs to happen is fixing the blackout restrictions. I get you can’t get rid of them entirely but they can scale them back to something more reasonable. Where I live, four teams are “local” (I live 550 miles from Houston but the Astros are local somehow) and with FanDuel going away all are on separate streaming services. They can’t expect us to figure this out. Letting us pay extra to get all games in MLB.tv would make a lot of sense.

  15. This is the first year I will NOT be buying mlb tv… I’m going to sail the seven seas instead

  16. ESPN is trash and Rob Manfred is trash.

I’m hoping with the T-Mobile benefit we won’t have to add any of that ESPN nonsense to the equation. I won’t have it. I just don’t really give a fuck anymore. The wife and I are already struggling with this whole trip to the White House in the spring not to mention the Dodgers ties to ICE. It’s messy and while I’d like to separate the two out, it was Dave Roberts’ comments about ICE and the White House that really kinda put us over.

And let’s not even get into this constant conversation about a frigging looming lockout.

2026 is gonna be a clusterfuck season. I can already feel it.

  17. As soon as it was announced that ESPN was taking over MLB.TV, I knew they were going to fuck up the product, just like they’ve ruined the NHL out-of-market product.

  18. F*ck ESPN forever. Ruined CFB and now coming for MLB. Unmatched corporate greed, brought to you by Fanduel

  19. Set up for autorenewl and it won’t matter. It says that right at the top. But yes, still a hoop.

  20. If you make it too expensive and too difficult to watch legally, then illegally makes more sense.
