FALLOUT: James Pearce ARRESTED For Battery | Is His Time With Atlanta Falcons OVER?

Atlanta Falcons face turmoil as James Pearce Jr. is arrested in Miami on multiple charges, including aggravated battery and stalking involving WNBA player Rickea Jackson. As details emerge, fans and the organization grapple with the fallout—will Arthur Blank and the Falcons take decisive action, or play the NFL’s familiar “wait-and-see” game?

Host Aaron Freeman breaks down the legal aftermath, the likelihood of NFL suspension, and the Falcons’ history with players facing off-field issues. The episode questions if the team should have seen red flags, dissects the cost of betting on “character risks,” and explores how public outcry and possible video evidence could shape Pierce’s future in Atlanta. Should the Falcons prioritize on-field success over accountability—or is this the moment for a new standard?

  1. It's too soon to jump to conclusions what will happen with Pierce. The legal process could take a while to play out. These are serious charges. Hopefully he learned a life's lesson. Whether he returns to the NFL and the Falcons remains to be determined.

  2. Would be smart to add another pass rusher. I don't think Pearce career over in Atlanta but he's on a slippery slop. One more incident like this I think he's gone. Stupidity from another young athlete. 10 cent head . Hopefully he learns from this but could be an athlete that thinks he can do whatever and always be given a chance because he's a pass rusher which teams always need.

  3. This new regime can’t expect fans to stand by the team if they are going to stand by a violent abuser. I certainly won’t. I expect better from Matt Ryan.

  4. If Michael Vick is the template for the Falcons’ reaction, they’ll wait until his sentencing to cut him. It’d be foolish for them to take action until the legal situation plays out.

  5. Tapping her car aint all dat but as usual they and u folks magnify the shit…everybody has gotten into arguments and try to keep someone from leaving while talking to them..this is not all that..and hitting the cop in the leg wit his car when the cop probably got in his way but he wasnt trying to run over no cop….I kno all this was blown out of proportion…but he shouldn't have ran

  6. It might not happen, but the double standard for athletes/celebrities vs. others will probably show its ugly head. He’ll probably get a slap on the wrist with probation and/or fines. Of course, we don't know what actually happened as of yet, but it's terrible that this type of harassment happens daily.

  7. Cut his ass! We don’t need this dragging behind us. He was picked and vetted by the last regime. The rest of the NFL apparently knew this behavior was possible from him but our leaders knew better than everyone else. Sounds about right.

  8. Man up Aaron, been a fan a long time. Really losing respect for you here, i rather never see Atl win a Super Bowl, than have women abusers, and sexual predators on my team… any man that compromises his morals for anything let alone a fucking football game isn’t a man at all. Bury JPJ punk ass he won’t hit no more women!

  9. I'm wondering if he already has some form of CTE. When Jalen Carter's car racing resulted in the death of 3 people it seemed really really idiotic but mostly just idiotic and irresponsible. This didn't result in any deaths but it easily could have. Rather than just stupid though this also seems downright crazy. This really seems like something only a crazy person would do. From the moment he started chasing her it seems obvious that this couldn't end in anything but disaster even for James Pearce himself. What sane person would ever want to put themselves in a situation like that? The guy has to be some kind of crazy to do something like this. He may have just thrown his whole life away to do something like this.

  10. I saw this coming with James Pierce. It was something disturbing about this kid in his interviews in the preseason. He seems to be bipolar! Terry and Raheem needed to get this guy some help.

  11. Look let’s be real I feel like as long as he does his legal process and get his process with the NFL I say we keep him. It’s going to be better value for the Falcons plus we get a good player. Yes if he’s found guilty he has to do what he has to do but after he does what ever may happen he’s still a Falcons. I can separate business from feelings granted he can’t do the shit again he’s on probation with the team in my opinion.
And yes it does potentially help out the cap. He messed up his image so it will probably mess with his money and time. Also it’s a big factor what the wnba player wants as well

  12. Well done Aaron.

The situation is terrible, but you covered it well.

What disappointing decision from Pearce. What a tough situation for the Falcons. And what an indictment of the poor judgement of Fontenot and Morris. Their careers will be tainted with this on top of the other foolish decisions like drafting Penix, or paying Cousibs, or drafting Pitts.

  13. Why oh why do we keep this evil cloud over our falcons what did we do in a previous life to warrant all this bad luck to pour on us year after year and after what we gave up to get him in the draft,it's gonna sting for a while. Hope everything works out for him

  14. When it comes to the legal system in America it is very rarely black and white. Once money is involved things just turn into one big grey area, thanks for saying that in a much more direct form Aaron. Glad Rickea is okay and I'm hoping JPJ gets the mental help that he needs, the worst thing they could do is bankrupt this young man and leave him out in the street with all these mental health issues untreated.

  15. 1. Terry and Rah were going to draft JPJ in the Jalon spot but Jalon dropped and h was UGA so they had to take him 2. This is why JPJ fell! He had character issues SERIOUS ISSUES. 3. The geniuses Rah and Terry talked to his mom so they knew they could draft him.4. They go back in to getting him giving up a top 15 pick for a player who after today would be lucky to go Round 2. UTTER FAILURE

  16. Unfortunately we live in a world where if you have the talent, they are more likely to get second chances and if Atlanta were to cut James Pearce tomorrow. Yeah they will live what they are preaching for one day but for the most part, I don’t think sport fans in general care about what message they are preaching if it means taking a big step back.
