🚨Chicago Bears Are STAYING in Illinois | Agreement Close + Great News for Bears Landing Maxx Crosby

The Chicago Bears may be closer than ever to solving two massive franchise-defining questions: where the team will play long-term and how they can add a true defensive superstar. New reporting surrounding an Arlington Heights stadium project combined with growing league buzz around Maxx Crosby has put the Bears squarely in the national spotlight.

According to Fox News, multiple sources close to negotiations say the Chicago Bears and Illinois lawmakers are nearing an agreement on key issues that would keep the team in-state and accelerate progress toward a new stadium development in Arlington Heights. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker addressed the situation publicly, saying, “We’re in consistent conversation with the Chicago Bears… there’s a real possibility that many of the things that we put on the table are things that they’re willing to do to stay in the state.” That statement represents the strongest signal yet that momentum is building toward a long-term solution.

A modern stadium project in Arlington Heights would dramatically reshape the Bears’ future, providing revenue flexibility, improved facilities, and long-term roster-building advantages. Ownership stability and infrastructure investment often translate directly into aggressive roster moves, making this news especially important for fans tracking the Bears’ competitive window.

At the same time, the Bears’ odds of landing one of the NFL’s most dominant defenders appear to be rising. NFL insider Jason La Canfora reported explosive comments involving Maxx Crosby, stating that Crosby told Tom Brady he would never play for the Raiders again and would retire before doing so. La Canfora added that while the Raiders may resist trading him, similar situations have unfolded before — referencing Myles Garrett’s public stance last year before his situation ultimately stabilized.

Crosby remains one of the most productive edge rushers in football. Over the past several seasons, he has consistently ranked among league leaders in pressures, quarterback hits, tackles for loss, and snap count, while also posting double-digit sack production. Crosby’s motor, durability, and ability to disrupt games without coming off the field make him a perfect fit for a defense built on constant pressure. His presence would instantly elevate Chicago’s pass rush, forcing offenses to adjust protections and opening lanes for the rest of the defensive front.

For the Bears, the timing matters. With financial flexibility approaching and a defense already loaded with young talent, adding a proven All-Pro-caliber EDGE would signal a win-now approach. Pairing off-field momentum — like stadium clarity — with an aggressive on-field move could redefine how the league views Chicago’s trajectory.

Between stadium progress in Arlington Heights and a potential opening to pursue Maxx Crosby, the Bears are entering one of the most important stretches in franchise history. The decisions made now could shape not only the roster, but the identity of the organization for decades to come.

  2. AH has easy highway access, a metra station, and plenty of land to do whatever they need for parking, dining, retail etc. It just makes sense at this point. It will bring tons of tax dollars and give us a dome for winter events. Taylor Swift alone could sell out a new stadium 5 nights in a row here.

  3. As a Indiana resident, the Bears stadium being built in Gary would have renewed the city's economy. Since the late 70s/80/ with the mills downsizing and laying off thousands of people the only people that stayed in the city were the low income familys who couldnt afford to move . I urge you to look up the history of Gary and see what people went through to make the city what it is today. The Bears stadium in Gary would help rebuild the city to its once glory and all that could be said is it would hurt season ticket holders. Believe me there are thousands or more of Bears fans here in Indiana.

  4. Sorry, but Crosby is not worth 2 first round picks. He's already hurt and pushing 30 years old. Look at how the Khalil Mack trade set the Bears back. Make a trade that involves only 1 first round pick, and I would go for it.

  5. Trey Hendrickson is a better option than Maxx Crosby to me he has more sacks & forced fumbles in less games plus you don't have to give up draft capital & you can keep your offensive core without trading a receiver
