It’s significant Eagles are letting Sean Mannion hire his staff

In order for motion to actually work, you can’t have the line/run game doing something different from what the QB and WRs are doing. It all needs to be one cohesive operation. The Eagles identified that early in the interview process. Most guys they interviewed come from that West Coast Offensive philosophy, from trees like McVay, Shanahan, and LeFluer. It’s certainly significant but not a surprise. It would be almost detrimental to do it any other way **IF** we’re serious about changing our offensive scheme/philosophy.
I don’t think they’re expecting a guy to leave after one year given the fact they’re letting him hire his own staff.
I say let him sink or swim. If he’s successful, great. If not Howie and Jeff will right the ship in 2027.
This just goes to show all you people yelling about Nick, KP, Jalen, or whoever else have no idea what you are talking about (I’m not letting then off the hook, to be clear). You are guessing after having seen 1/2 the cards at most. Stout was never brought up as an issue because none of you sit in those meetings and listen to the arguments the coaches were having. It was never a simple fix because any change would have pissed someone off and caused other problems. I trust Howie, Lurie, and Nick to make the call to clean house.
I’m so hyped man Howie gonna set it up all right for the team again and Jalen gonna go stunt on the haters once again this year! Obviously Vic is going to have another master class of a year! Watching that super bowl the other day made me really miss the excitement of last February. WE NEED IT BACK!
Are they this stupid in that article that’s why you hire Grizzard to take the reigns if Mannion is poached next season you have someone who will be able to run the same system or at least a stable version of it , also now Nick should be able to start to formulate a better offense than he ever could before now that all the plays are not ran by Stoutland lmaooo.
The offensive staff are all people who worked under or with McVay. It’s practically a flashing sign, what offense the Eagles intend to implement.
Expect players who have been in this system to be signed in FA.
Let’s say Mannion does have a breakout year and teams are poaching him for HC interviews. Hopefully that leaves enough internal hires he’s brought in that aren’t old friends of Sirianni he can pick from that won’t rat fuck this team with pop warner level playcalling.
It would probably be more significant if they didn’t let him have his own staff given the nature of the offense being implemented
This is a serious signal that Laurie and Howie are pushing for the new offense and giving Mannion the power to install the new offense.
Man, that first offensive drive is gonna hit like crack next year if we can get our engine started again
Man, I want Sirriani’s job.
So hypothetically if the offense is fixed next season and the team is successful what do the Eagles do? It will be a revolving door at OC with Sirianni as a head coach for as long as they’re successful. Either Sirianni needs to hurry up and reinvent his philosophy or they may need to make a controversial decision sooner rather than later. Will be interesting to see..
I look at it as more of this is the system we’re running and we’re willing to part ways with the best offensive line coach we’ve ever had in order to do it. That’s a message to the team to get with the program or you’re gone. And that starts with the QB.
