  3. As a pure playmaker, he’s another archetype that the Thunder needs. It’s just worrying to think about how the guard rotation will look as soon as he’s fully back and who could potentially get moved this summer to make room for those minutes

  7. Holy passes. He’s our best passer. We have our designated last play inbounder (not a dig to AC, but our inbounds are not the same since Giddey left)

  21. I wasn’t really high on him pre-draft. But maaan, you can see his talent and feel for the game is still clearly visible there even with those fucked up injuries and circumstances.

    Imo one of the reasons Chet has struggled is just because we lack +A level traditional point guard passing and instead of getting the ball on cuts and lobs, we just throw it down to him in the post or he creates something for himself.

    You can see this in the on/off stats, Chet goes from 68.6% TS to 59.2% when SGA is on vs. off.

    If you look at the 2023-24 season, he’s 66% with both SGA and Giddey, 69.9% with Giddey on and SGA off and down to 56.2% without SGA and Giddey.

    Without SGA and excluding Hart and JWill, we aren’t moving the ball to generate assists we move the ball so each player can try to create their own shot. There’s just a lot of pass, probe the defense, pass back out, pass to corner, probe the defense, pass back out, pass to top of the key, probe the defense, etc.

    The passes from topic in this clip are what we need, a quick pass and the shot is immediately there and the ball gets shot.

  25. Good passes. Just let him develop the rest of the year in the G-league and off-season and he can join the team in the new season. Make a big splash and then we will be ready for our 3-peat after we get one of Petterson, Dybansa, Boozer!!!

  29. Youngblood and Barnheizers NBA experience should be a big help as he gets back into the game. And a 7:1 AST/TO ratio when those are the teams leading scorers is really encouraging.
