42. We’re definitely trying to compete for pennants this season. I think we’ll honestly pay Skubal and we were just playing the arbitration game. Torres, Skubal, Flaherty, Mize, Rogers, and now Verlander are gonna be free agents. Báez, Finnegan, McKinstry, and Vest the year after that. Just lost in the 15th inning of an elimination game where pitching depth was questionable. Valdez and Verlander provide playoff experienced depth. Instead of making trades, they looked in free agency and potentially the farm system to fix needs, as well as a new hitting coach.
