[Healey] Isiah Kiner-Falefa said the Blue Jays were glad the Red Sox lost in the playoffs last year because they thought the Yankees were an easier matchup.

  1. I mean, I thought the Yankees were the easier match-up as well, I watched the games we played against both teams last year

  2. I dont think it mattered too much… the Jays were on fire and not losing to either

this is just good PR for IKF

  3. He wasn’t wrong… outside of the game 3 collapse we annihilated the Yankees. It was boys vs men

  4. 100% agree but ultimately think we would beat both. Would not have wanted to face Crochet at all, he could absolutely will them to 1 or 2 wins just on his own.

  5. I believe it was the great Buck Martinez who said “**The Yankees, they’re not a good team.** **I don’t care what their record is”**

  6. Great. Let’s give bulletin board material to two inter divisional teams. Thanks falafel.

  7. I think this was the consensus that most of us had, no?

Boston would’ve been a very tough series.

  8. dunno bout that lol, the redsox has crochet but the lineup was much inferior. the yankees had the best offence in baseball

  9. The Yankees are just not a good team.

But yeah, I mean, it’s not often you see a team just be visibly, noticeably outclassed in the playoffs. We mopped the floor with New York. Boston has Crochet starting and Aroldis Chapman closing. They could have pitched their way into a nail-biter series. The Yankees have Aaron Judge, and if he doesn’t beat you a la that HR off of Varland, the rest of the team isn’t going to pick up the slack.

  10. I think the Red Sox are going to be our main competition this year. People talk about the Jays overachieving last year but the Yankees had a bunch of guys play well above their career averages. Yankees are an 85 win team in 2026.

  11. Max Fried and his awful track record in the playoffs, vs. Crochet and his near record setting numbers in the WC game.

    Tough decision tbh

  12. A pitching staff reliant on strikeouts against a team who doesn’t strikeout much was a recipe for disaster for the Yankees.
