Klint Kubiak will report directly to Tom Brady and John Spytek. Mark Davis is stepping aside and letting the new generation take over football operations

  1. This is a good thing. It was cemented with Mark sitting in the audience and letting Spytek run the show. We may be finally starting to see the “new era” take off with things being run like a “normal” operation.

  2. I respect that and how it should be.

    Kudos to Mark.

Hopefully the Mark haters can whine about those two if this doesn’t work.

  3. Feel like this trend of HOF franchise qb to president and head football decision-maker happening is gonna be more widespread. It just makes too much sense imo.

  4. This is what Mark wanted, a “president of operations” for Raiders. He has this for the Vegas Aces and it has been working.

  5. People can shit on Mark all day and they often do. What I see is an owner who cares enough to try everything to help the team win. That includes stepping aside and giving people the platform to try and succeed. I hope it works out

  6. Raider fans last year: “fuck Tom Brady”. Raider fans this year: ”This is great!” That’s why it’s important to be open minded to decisions the “Real” Raiders organization makes. This has always been a good thing. Mark is trying. But there are 30 teams he has to deal with too. The same motherfuckers his Dad Al Davis had to grit and grind!! Shit ain’t easy. Give the raiders a break. We’re just watching.

  7. Mark Davis was like stop bothering me with this football shit! I’m tryna spend more time at PF CHANGS 😂

  8. There have been a few articles over the past few years mentioning that when his mother passed, there would be a hefty inheritance tax, and due to the increased value of the team it would lead to him selling off more of his share.

Just speculating on my part, but he’s also 70, and after 15 years of little success, and much misery running the team, he could be opting to take a backseat and just enjoy his life.

  9. Mark doesn’t want to be a jerrah or Al. He wants to find competent people to run his business for him. Most successful nfl teams do just that. Now just need results.

  10. Problem is that it was Mark’s decision to give this authority to Spytek and Brady, so it’s still Mark’s organization. We heard this same stuff with McKenzie/Allen and Gruden/Mayock.

  11. Let’s hope he got things right this time and that he can step aside for good like he was supposed to do when he hired Reggie McKenzie.

  12. Say what you want about Mark but his name hasn’t come up once in the Epstein files like other owners.

  13. Spytek was hired as, and took the job to be, General Manager of the Raiders. And while I’m certain it’s a great honor to now share his duties with minority owner and rookie GM Tom Brady, it’s a situation to keep on eye on.

  14. Honestly Mark has many reason$$$ to benefit from this. A successful raiders team equals more $$ in his pocket

  15. Then Tom needs to ditch that broadcasting job.

Even as much as it pains me to have cap’n tuck rule as an owner and potentially in a leadership role, I’m all for it if he’s throwing his primary focus behind it. Need to see if there’s some real gold to mine there.

That said, if he’s truly taking on the level of leadership per this quote, broadcasting is a distraction neither he nor the team can tolerate.

  16. This is what he’s been trying to do ever since he took control of the team. Mark has always wanted to put somebody else in control of the team and football decisions because he knew he wasn’t good at that. But when he was forced to fire Gruden, he didn’t have anyone he could trust to make these decisions
