I just recently got into basketball, and Quinten Post was one of the few Dutch basketballers that I could find in the NBA. Is he any good?

He needs to develop his playmaking game and iso and dribbling
Streaky on the 3’s and no desire to rebound. Needs to be replaced with someone willing to go hard in the paint.
Pros:
– legitimate stretch 5 (career 37% from 3)
– solid offensive feel (passing and positioning)
– good size for a center (7 foot, 240lbs)
Cons:
– below average athlete for the NBA level
– defensive liability, particularly in space
– adequate (at best) rebounder
He’s a solid backup stretch 5 who can do a bit more than just stand in the corner and shoot 3s but just athletic limitations probably prevent him from ever being more than a 15-20 minute per game player
he doesn’t have much going for him rn when his 3’s aren’t falling, but the potential is there
Good role player; is a good thing for Dutch basket movement i guess
He’s okay. He’s unfortunately shooting a lot worse this season than his rookie season. Shooting is his main skill, so when he’s shooting poorly the reasons to play him dwindle. We’ve also got Horford playing fantastic, Draymond who plays a lot at the 5, and potentially Porzingis now. So Post might be slipping out of the rotation. He’s still a fun player to root for, though. He’s got an edge to him.
Post need to learn how to “Post” so he can be in the block also helping free up Steph
Still too early to say. If he doesn’t improve though backup at best
At worst, he’ll have a reasonably long career as a situational stretch big.
At best, he continues to build his strength as he did from last year to this, must also work on lateral movement (his biggest defensive negative in today’s game and why he is sometimes played off the court) and becomes a solid backup C for any team, low end starter possible on some rosters.
Odds are he continues defensive growth but likely peaks as a quality backup C on a roster that values stretch bigs. He may well be a long time Warrior on this path if he does not over achieve and price himself off the roster in his 3rd contract. I anticipate we’ll extend him for sure once after his rookie deal.
For a second rounder, he’s solid. He’s really picked up his defensive skills in Year 2, but his shot comes and goes. I think he has potential to develop further and become even more solid. He should have a decently long career as a rotation player given his size and shooting ability.
He’s a fine 2nd/3rd string center who’s getting better on defense and can shoot 3s, so he’ll probably have a long career in the NBA, probably as a journeyman.
Heavy Feet. Lack of rebounding ability is honestly his worse attribute. If he could board up and get rebounds he’d be legit starting 5.
I like Post. He’s a good shooter, solid defender and a very good passer. I’d like to see him put some muscle on, develop better rebounding and finishing at the rim. But I think he has a ton of potential.
He should play more than 4 mins every night, this is young less athletic version of porzingis but we traded for actual kp and now kerr’s not gonna develop him for when kp and/or al are bound to be out resting or injured
He’s fine
Shot is inconsistent. Needs a lot of air space and load time to get it off.
He’s physically weak. Can’t impose his will on smaller players and not a great screener. Doesn’t rebound well. Can’t switch onto perimeter guys
He can improve but as of now he’s a backup player 10 min guy. Needs to just pound the gym because I think play strength fixes a lot of his weaknesses
I shudder every time he shoots a 3
Being around Al and Porzingis should theoretically really help him develop his skills as a stretch 5
Decent back up to give you 12-15min nothing more. Problem is the roster is full of 12mi. Players getting 25-30
Expendable now that Horford is healthy and they have Kristal’s Porzingis to cover centre. Add to this that Kerr continues to use Green at the 5 as well and Posts playing time is going to be limited . Welcome to what happened to TJD.
He has potentials. Dubs need to hire Dirk to develop the KD and Dray needs to teach the kid how to be defensive minded
Slump, but I think he has some tools to work with
He’s been inconsistent but given the recent leap by Santos, I think he has a lot of potential to be a big contributor. We’ve already seen shades of greatness. Now he just has to take another leap. Hoping he’s healthy in the offseason as I believe he was injured last summer and that probably affected his ability to take another major step towards improvement.
Nethergoat,
Future Holland Famer
On the Warriors, if he can consistently hit threes late in the game (after playing 15-20 minutes), I can see him being the Warriors primary big man. He appears to be a guy who can get stronger with training and can be an adequate defender.
He plays soft and wants to be a guard more than a big. Doesn’t crash the boards and is always just hovering the 3 pt line. He needs to get aggressive and play big, he has potential to be great.
Dude has taken a noticeable jump from last year ( regressing at times ) and if he keeps improving I hope he’s a Warrior for a long time.
His floor is high but his ceiling is low. He lacks the athletasim and skill to ever be in an all-star discussion or to be one of the top 3 players on a contending team. But is is a useful rotation player who will probably stick in the NBA for many years.
i don’t expect him to start much for the warriors – not if Horton or Pozingas are available. But he is good enough to play meaninful minutes.
Last year his shooting was blazing hot. That’s cooled off – it looks like he will be shooting 3s in the mid to upper 30% range – respectable but not scary good. His defense last year was poor. He clearly spent the summer in the lab working on defensive footwork and reads. The work paid off -but he will never be an elite defender any more than he ever will be an elite post up player.
he started out strong but now at best his potential is a backup center. Which is ok. Obviously we were all hoping he would be the stretch big of the future but hes regressed.
He would’ve benefitted from Coach Dekki’s rebounding drills
not great but he’s fine (if you have to RELY on him though your in trouble)
As others have said, he’s a great option as 2nd or 3rd center. Likely will never be a starting center.
Like podz, untouchable
He’s a passable backup center especially if you need someone to stretch the floor. You wouldn’t want him as a starter or when you need a stop.
