It just got a lot more real…
The Montreal Canadiens are once again linked to a familiar face, but some goaltending updates, especially from one prospect, have taken centre stage. Josh Gosse chats about all of it on this episode of Habs Digest.

If the Canadiens played Dobes more their standing would be challenging Tampa. The Habs want to get Montembeault going and have played him more than they normally would. Fowler may be our future but this year he has a pretty mediocre record. Forget the advance stats and just play the goalie that wins.
Just stay a long way from Kadri. He has nothing to bring to the team.
Pas de Kadri svp
D'Amico on the Starr and D'Amico show put the kaboosh on the Kadri rumor going to Montreal. In the past Montreal might of been interested but with Kapanen playing the way he is, the Habs are not interesting in bring Kadri to Montreal. Plus Montreal would have to send a key prospect back if they wanted Calgary to retain and no one wants to lose a player like Zharovsky or Engstrom.
there are peopl hired and well paid to make decision in the Habs rebuild. we shall see what goes soon who they will try to acquire. we know GM Hughes knows Habs need a big defenceman capable to clean the front of the net and be a reliable 6th defenceman. this said the struggle for 6 and 7th defenceman is creating discomfort and this will have to be addressed soon and might not please to many habs fans???
Kadri grew up with Canadiens sweater on his back
maybe maybe Cadri playing with better players in mtl could become a help to the habs but that is theoredically speaking. reality sometimes does not materialize???
most teams this season has struggles with the goal tending not only mtl
Jesus H. Christ on a crutch, why are we even looking at another forward right now??? The Habs are tied for #1 in the Eastern Division for goals scored and are #3 in the entire league. Not only do we NOT need more firepower, it would be a huge mistake to mess with the chemistry this team has scoring goals. We need defense…at least one big, solid, stay at home, better keep your head up defenseman to help shut down the blue line. Laine and a 2nd round pick ought to get us what we need.
Im beginning to be of the mind that our goaltending stats are a byproduct of the high scoring offense.. Similar to the oilers (who won enough to be finallist for the last 2 seasons) the race is now to 4 goals in a game.. in the price days we played a style that was a race to 3…. I really dont see any goalie coming in and playing noticeably better that anyone we are allready relying on..
Volokhin is .954 right now, so why are you talking about Croteau?
and if myauntr had nuts she would be my uncle
The solution to the Habs situation is as follows: They need to figure out what to do with Laine, Newhook and Dach. They also need to acquire a large winger (Tom Wilson type) for the top line and a defensive D-man to reduce the load on Matheson and help eliminate some of the costly giveaways that have cost the team defensively. If Engstrom is the future, then Rheinbacher becomes potentially expendable.
for get about Kadri it is not happening that resource dose not know what there talking about he is not coming to Montreal finle
NO NO NO TO KADRI !!
no to Kadri
Voronkov
YAY Croteau..I am a Clarkson (and McGill) alumni! 🙂
Kadri to habs, he'll land wild LA kraken canes before the habs, plus with kapanen doing good + the danault trade, kadri 0:42 a lot less usefull for the habs
With the league going full offense,,forget the .900 in the future, .890 is the new .900
I have about as much interest in Kadri as I do in the F-35. 😖
Nobody will come help the Habs.
They will wait for Newhook to come back.
We will have to wait next year.
I think I want to see them trade for a right handed defenseman, the attack is pretty solid. If they can manage to give up less goals, this team will look really good.
To be fair, Habs D lets too many grade A chances, so even with good goaltending it would be hard to get a goalie at 900 this season. Hockey has way more skill then ever, teams don't need to take 40 shots a game anymore, sometimes just 18 is enough.
i'd rather get anyone in the middle of their NHL career than get kadri who is 36 and will retire in 2 to maybe 4 years.
Kadri to Montreal is worst case scenario. He's a garbage cowardly player and will destroy the cohesion in the room. He'd the exact opposite of Galagher.
Ok i said this before Number don't say everything when you loose a game 7 to 2 like in Colorado that 7 goals in 1 game will take your % down and this year We The Canadiens have won a lot of High scoring games but Have lost a lot of game 6,5 to 2 so that why the % is not good .Now why is team not always playing the same way . From start of season till now when Monty was in net the players wanted him to go to the Olympics (and after he came back from Laval fragile) they played safe not taking chance on offence so score low shots low . Fowler we and everybody know he is projected as the future again they played safe low shots low score try to protect the future . Now wen Dobes is in net they go all out attack that why we wins games 6 to 5 they take chance on offence look at all the 2 on 1 vs Dobes in he's games Dobes only care for the win and the players Know that whit Monty and Fowler they is More at stake like a career the players are Brothers its not just a job The Days of P.Roy ,M.Brodeur,C.Price are over we have a NEW hockey in Montreal and it ATTACK base not winning 2 to 1. ok go let me have it tell me how i don't know this or that it will be a good read whit my morning coffee
No! Please not Kadri.
The Kadri contract makes him a negative value, hard pass
Sidney Crossly
Kadri for a bag of pucks? Keep the pucks. Montreal can always use pucks.
Love it when you bring this type of content to us.
No way to Kadri
Montreal is calling everyone. Of course julienne did last trade deadline period and did nothing. Due diligence. Wait and see
Montreal needs grinders a tough player that’s gonna go to the net into the corners a rough and rough player but a decent point player not just a charge fourth line. We need a good savage player. This guy doesn’t go. It’s not physique. It’s not from Montreal that player is not from Montreal, I told you this right now we have enough of that kind of player.
NFW to Kadri. Stop smoking that legal Canadian weed.
Kadri only if they retain half his salary
Hard no to Kadri
