  1. I don’t know why people are treating the Super Bowl as some big “revelation” about the importance of the DL, especially the interior. When, in the history of football, has it NOT been true?

It’s why it’s so frustrating with Poles and his lack of focus on it. Hell, he ignored the offensive interior line up until Ben was hired – he almost got Caleb killed his rookie year.

Interior DL HAS to be the number 1 priority this off-season. There are no impact free agents, and no available trades (turns out teams don’t like to trade high end interior DT’s), so Chicago MUST use two of the first three picks to solve this problem. Pick 25 has to be the best 3T or NT on the board, and then get the next 3T/1T in the second – whichever you didn’t select first.

There are quite a few really good prospects in this draft, but the drop off after the early rounds is significant.

The top need is NOT LT, it’s not edge, it’s not safety. Fix the middle, Poles!

  2. Media needs to chill on the idea of "aggresively" and "going all in". That's a recipe for disaster. Poles should NOT kick the can down the road with all these restructure arguments. The big get this offseason will be an extension for our OT Darnell Wright which might cost 18-20M per year on a 4 or 5 year deal. T. Edmunds is definitely gone as a cut. I would listen on both DJ and Cole for a trade, but we don't need to trade either guy. We cannot pay Crosby, so any discussion like that is just fluff trying to get fan attention. Next season we will need cap space for Caleb Williams. You don't overspend this year. YOU JUST DONT.

  3. We need a win long term plan. Packers are always there and tough because they don’t overspend and build through the draft. Yes I understand windows open and close quickly but we are not one player away. We have an entire D line to rebuild. The entire safety area to rebuild and still need an edge plus corner depth. Stick to the long term plan and now that we are a desirable destination don’t overpay mid skill players like Jarret.

  4. THESE SAME GUYS have been saying alllllllllll year ' bears arent 1-2 players away from a sb' literally nothing changed except the won games YOU thought they couldnt.. chicago media is THE WORST

  5. People need to calm down on the Crosby stuff. He's going to cost way more than he's worth. The Bears also have a lot more places to improve on the defense and guys that are out of contract. Then there's the issue at LT as well. I'd consider bringing in Hendrickson, if anything, because he won't cost you draft capital. Booker seems to be developing nicely and Sweat is Sweat. They really need improvement at DT and LB as well.

  6. The Bears are not in win now mode. To me win now means that if the team doesn't win, it's time to blow the team up. That's not where the team is, so keep the draft capital.

  7. I used to do a rinky dink podcast with a couple friends and we had less than 100 listeners and made no money, and even we knew to mute our mics when someone else was talking.

  8. We don't need Crosby. We can draft a rally good edge to go opposite Montez.. And we need a beast DT for the interior. If we can get to the QB better the back end is good to go. We might not be able to keep them all. Brisker and or Byard might be gone. But we have enough to be good on that.

  9. We need some health, some guys to earn the contracts we have issued already, and a solid draft. There's ni reason to mortgage the future with bad cap issues.
