One of my favourite fan moments ever. Jim Robson’s season tickets used to be two rows in front of me.

Light up Robson Square & the Coliseum tonight.
RIP.
“He will play, you know he’ll play, he’ll play on crutches, he will play, and he will play at Madison Square Garden” – Jim Robson
Passing of a legend, I listened to Jim Robson on Radio then on TV, one of the best play by play announcers of all time, also a good person RIP Jim
I’ve got a lot of memories listening to him on the radio with my Dad. He was very good at getting you to visualize what was happening.
I just heard news. Heartbroken 💔
Jim and his family were neighbours of ours, and I went to school with his kids. We both lived near Quilchena Park, and our little league was based there. On opening day, Jim would sometimes come down and do player introductions/PA stuff. It was incredibly exciting. Great family, great guy, and the best voice ever; not just Canucks but all of sports.
Go back and listen to his play-by-play. The amount of detail he gave was astounding. Who had the puck, where it was on the ice, and what play was being made. Going to games at the Pacific Coliseum with him on a transistor radio in your ear? Heaven.
We may have not won a cup yet, but we had the Stanley Cup of play by play hosts.
RIP
Very sad day, the guy was the legend of legends in the play by play world!
RIP JR, you will be missed.
RIP to the voice of my childhood. A true Canucks legend.
Jim Robson and Vin Scully – the two best announcers in professional sports. Period.
We took our kids to the Canucks/Penguins game a couple of weeks ago and he was there, watching the game with his wife. Even got a shout-out from the announcer welcoming them back. It was a really nice moment, him waiving to the packed house as everyone gave him an enthusiastic applause. RIP.
