Not gonna lie… slightly underwhelming.

  1. Legit gotta give credit to Roster Resource over at Fangraphs. They had all this shit sorted out and lineups / depth charts done nearly instantly.

  2. You’d definitely feel a lot more confident with a Bo/Tucker/Bregman caliber player in this lineup

  3. With the loss of Bo, you are asking for a lot from your lineup. You are asking for Springer to try and repeat a career year at 36. You are hoping Barger can maintain or get close to what he was last year. And you are hoping Okamoto can look like a major piece in the MLB. I still think they need to find an established bat from somewhere.

  4. Yikes man that makes the WS loss sting even more considering they were the better team besides Yamamoto turning into a God and some dumb baserunning. I was trying to move on but the current roster yeah I’m nervous.

  5. They really need another masher in that lineup.
With losing Bo. Springer regression. No Santander bounce back… that stings

  6. Lineup is probably:

    Springer

    Lukes/Davis

    Vlad

    Barger

    Kirk

    Varsho

    Okamoto

    Ernie

    Gimenez

Looks very similar to the postseason run obviously but need to hope for limited regression from George and that Okamoto makes the MLB transition smoothly

  7. It’s still very solid, but it definitely lacks high level upside like the Yankees and Orioles just to make divisional teams. The middle infield and LF positions are places where you’re just hoping for league average production and 10 or so homers (Davis higher but he’s short side of the platoon). However I think everyone in this lineup will have a 95 wRC+ or higher

Vladdy and Springer have potential and have shown in the past to be elite bats, but one of those guys is 36. Tucker or Bo would really help.

  8. That’s literally the same line up that took us to the World Series minus Bo who only played a few games. Why is everyone so upset?

  9. Our pitching and defence carry us though.

Plenty of runs in this lineup for our rotation.

    Al east repeat easy.

  10. This all can be resolved at the trade deadline. Just need to stay above water till then. Maybe Eloy remembers how to hit again.

  11. Underwhelming?? It’s a better lineup than last year when they went to the last game in the World Series! You forget how infrequently Bo was on the field last year, and how bad he was the previous year. And his offensive contributions were often significantly undermined by how bad his defence was. I think you need to better understand modern baseball stats.

  12. Loperfido deserves a chance. He was fantastic in limited time last year. And this means Springer can be the everyday dh for sure

  13. A bit underwhelming for sure, but a lot of these guys were on the team last year so there’s good chemistry, very solid defense, and the addition of Okamoto adds a bit of punch. Jays definitely would be a lot better with Bo or Tucker though.

  14. Santander proved nothing as far as his worth to the team goes. It think we have to give this group a chance (Bichette didn’t play for close to the last quarter of the season and look what they did)

  15. Without bichette they lost huge production and protection for Guerrero.

No replacement for that loss either! This doesn’t look like a World Series lineup

  16. People don’t want to hear this but that lineup isnt good enough offensively for a full 162 games.
