Jayson Tatum spoke with local media today following the announcement that he practiced with Boston’s G League team in 5-on-5 workouts for the first time. Tatum gives an update on where he is recovering from Achilles surgery in May.

Damn, asking him if he has plans to change his game because of the injury must be a rough question to answer. Then pushing him on the same question again. Sort of insinuates he won't be the same. That might turn out to be true, but still a quite negatively angled question.

If he comes back this season: start him at point guard, with DWhite in the backcourt and Vooch, Garza and Jaylen up front. Space everyone to death with outside shooting and crush them on the boards, offensive and defensive. This lineup would also be physically stronger than everyone they were guarding at all five positions most of the time.

if he's coming back this year, it will likely be about 3-4 weeks before the season ends, to help get him up to game speed. i figure with all the inputs on this decision—doctors, trainers, GM, coaching staff, etc.—no one is going to force this issue for a single playoff run.
Brad, and the Cs ownership are well aware of the "biggest contract in NBA history" and no one wants to fail on getting the best return on that investment, both for Tatum personally and the Celtics long-term interests.
