  1. The Seahawks were able to have a strong defense because their offensive core and defensive cores were both on rookie contracts to a large extent. For the Bengals however, Burrow is frequently injured, they have no centerpieces at any level of the defense, have squandered 5 years of drafts and, to boot, have huge investments in 3 players who've missed the playoffs 3 years in a row. You can't be great everywhere. This franchise has put its money in the wrong players.

  2. Bengals keep going down each year in the eyes of vegas. Unfortunately vegas thinks we're done in the Burrow era and the front office isn't good enough to get it done while paying Burrow and Chase. They're prolly right

  3. They have to modernize their contract approach. When you have Burrow, Chase, Higgins all under contract for ~ 5 years in their prime you don’t worry about what the balance sheet looks like in 5 years. Restructure and spend what you need to on defense to win NOW.

  4. I believe this is definitely a make or break off season.
We all know how bad the defense played in 2025. Watching Seattle's defense made me realize how far away the Bengals D is. We need to get better at all 3 phases. Who will be the defensive coach/ leader on the field? You cant ask a rookie to be that dude. Does one of the young guns have that mindset? That type of leadership isn't taught, it's natural.
Hopefully, they get at least 1, if not 2 DAWGS on defense.
Trey Hendrickson is just good, he isn't that DUDE.
    Time will tell.

  5. I guess the best question to ask is what have Tobin/Taylor/front office done the past 5 years that has significantly improved the team. Waiting. Does anyone given their track record expect anything other than more subpar free agents, poor drafting and mediocre on field results. The greatness of Burrow , Chase and Higgins have hid the flaws of the entire organization. In fact it boils down to one player who fell into their laps due to their one pool guess…Joe Burrow . Because without him the Bengal noise of cards collapses.

  6. Bengals will do just enough to keep their snow covered seats filled and you all hoping and wishing hahaha. whenever they have a competent defensive player they get rid of them that should tell you all you need to know

  7. I say try to go get Jaylen Watson and pair him with DJ ,and hopefully Caleb Downs is there at pick 10 and we have a nice defensive backfield right there and I guess Jordan Battle can't do nothing but get better with those other three helping him out.

  8. No. The answer is no. The Bengals front office is not serious about winning. They tap dance and tiptoe around solving their problems while top tier teams in the league go for it and commit to the top talent.
