Stephen Curry has this uncanny ability to immediately notice anything off on the court.

  1. There’s people like me, where if they said “The rim is off” or “There’s a dead spot on the floor” I’d disregard them as full of shit without a second thought. But with Steph, he’s got a bazillion hours practicing ball handling and shooting and I’d take him seriously.

  2. My version of this is noticing extra spaces or spacing in documents.

I would prefer to be a basketball savant.

  3. Larry Bird 101.

Bird would get to the court he was to play on that day/night and dribble the basketball over damn near every square inch. Someone there setting up for the game once asked him why he was doing that. He basically told them he was mapping the court in his mind looking for areas of the court where the ball bounced higher or lower than usual. When asked why, he told them that his opponents likely wouldn’t expect the change in the bounce and that’s when he would have a better chance at stealing the ball.

  4. When you’re so frickin good at your job, you know it’s not you, but the software (court) that’s messing up

  5. Ngl if you play then you can tell if the rim is tilted and you can tell there’s a dead spot on the court even if you don’t play

  6. Clyde Drexler or maybe Terry Porter did this in the 1990 NBA Finals. Pistons vs. Trail Blazers.

Pregame warmups, they’re dunking, Drexler or Porter tells the ref the rim is off. They brought out the same measuring stick you see in this video. And indeed the rim was off by an inch.

  7. What are y’alls’ equivalent of this?

I’m still trying to think of mine, but another example would be the nurse from the original Knives Out.
