Let’s be honest. I keep hearing lazy people who don’t understand the NFL that Jerry will tag George and figure out the contract later. George Pickens is the best WR in the NFL and he showed what he can do in a better environment with an average QB. George Pickens has the same Agent as Micha Parsons, David Mulugheta. David is NOT allowing George to play on a tag or to give a discount. Other teams are already lined up to make George the highest paid WR in the NFL. Jerry knows this. There is only two options for Jerry to allow George to enter free agency and ai hope signed by Buffalo to pair him with Josh Allen who desperately needs an outside threat like George. Jerry can also trade Cee Dee for help on defense and sign George Pickens to a massive deal. I would do that in a heartbeat. I would also go a step further snd trade Dak for Joe Burrow. It’s time for a real shake up. Joe Burrow will sell more tickets and jerseys than Dak and excite the fan base. If you want to win you have to make championship decisions and not just business decisions. Cowboys fans want more. They want a run in the playoffs. Dak is not that guy, he’s tapped out his talents. It’s time to move on. I am sure Jamar and Tee will not be happy with the check down king as their QB. If the 2025 Cowboys had Joe Burrow as their QB with all the talent on the offense, Cowboys would have made a serious run in the playoffs and possibly to the Superbowl. Joe knows how to get to the Superbowl. No one would be talking about how bad the defense is when you have 4 weapons Cee Dee, George, Turpin, Ferguson and Williams. The offense alone should have powered the Cowboys to victories despite the defense.

Cowboys can fit GP3 and still sign 1-3 elite defensive free agents under the cap, all they need to do is restructure multiple contracts to free up the money. JJ sounds desperate enough to make things right before he leaves the building.

Lifelong Cowboys fan here and a much as I love Pickens as a number 2, Cowboys should tag and trade him. The Cowboys defense was so bad, it needs fixing NOW. They gave up 511 pts last year, a franchise record.
Tag him and trade him to the raiders for Crosby and draft defense. Spend that 35 million per on a pass rusher.
