10. Everyone talks like Baty is actually good at fielding – sorry, he isn't. Slightly better fielder than Vientos but he is NOT GOOD in the field and will never be a plus defender. Always a negative run value. He is a streaky hitter too. 100% Stearns is looking to sell high on Baty before he returns to being the player that he is.

11. I think a lot of Mets fans are way overvaluing Brett Baty. Baty has a career Batting Average (AVG): .232, OPS (On-Base + Slugging): .666, and OPS+ 87 below league average; he had a good 2nd half in 2025 that's it. I wish the trade market valued him as much as some Mets fan do.

Baty is too important being able to play 2nd third and probably 1st base with 3 injury prone players at those positions a proven solid defender and possibly above league average bat is just too valuable for this infield of everyone but Lindor missing decent time usually. I think internally we will find an answer in Ross or one of the other kids in spring training. Maybe Kimbrel can find it if the kids don’t work. The brewers do the same usually

18. This Baty vs Vientos thing, most people would probably say in a perfect world is trade Vientos…problem is Baty has more trade value and Vientos had a down year. Baty's value probably won't be any higher then it is now. If Baty is the one that has go to the Brewers for another high level RP…so be it…let Vientos and Polanco man 1b/DH and Maurico will probably spend the whole year in the minors playing 3b and get ready for the following year regardless of if Bichette goes or stays.

22. Baty is probably our most important player, maybe a bit hyperbolic,. He is crucial at LF, 3B, 2B, !B and DH. No way are we trading him. Polanco will get injured like usual, Simeon needs periodic breaks at 35, Bichette may fail at 3B plus Baty may be needed next year if Bichette leaves, LF may be open if Benge can't cut it, and lastly left handed platoon with Vientos. No way will we trade him. Impossible.

Most of these comments are probably from guys who gave up on Baty before last year 😂😂😂 … I may be in the minority here but I'm keeping Vientos … the NL having DH now makes a guy who hit 27 HR and raked in the playoffs gets my vote to show it was a fluke. Baty inproved but not enough to say he's untouchable. 🤷🏽‍♂️

31. Definitely, trade Vientos, Mauricio & injury prone guys Kodai Senga & Sterling Marte over Baty, only because Baty is a healthy, versatile infielder/outfielder fill-in.

    I would only add Baty to a two or three man Mets package trade, under one & only one condition, and that's as part of a 2-3 man Mets package trade for an established, solid starter like Skubal, Bubba Chandler, or Hunter Greene & young pitcher Uribe thrown in by the other team if they're available for a package trade. Let's Go Mets….😊

39. Trade baty let him go shine i love that kid. Just needs to play and not have the pressure of lnowing if he doesnt okay good one gane he might not play tomorrow plus i just got his patch auto card for 30$
