[MacMahon] The Mavericks negotiated their Anthony Davis trade with the Wizards without telling him or Rich Paul beforehand

  1. Right strategy. You can’t play more than 5 games in a row and then have the gall to ask for a max extension?? Lmao fuck outta here

  2. Good call. Why tell them and give them an opportunity to muddy the waters or even wreck the deal?

  3. Good, fuck em. The way they were demanding an extension after playing 20 games. Read the room.

  4. really feel like rich paul is going to fade away and lose power once lebron is gone, dude’s a leech.

  5. Everyone liked that.

Dude gets so many random injuries conveniently needing to miss months at a time and he or his agent thinks he needs to be coddled like a top 5 player?

  6. As they should..Paul is owed no advance notice and AD hasn’t earned that type of relationship here

  7. They didn’t do it for Luka, why the hell would they do it for street clothes and his agent? It’s a business at the end of the day.

  8. This is how Nico treated Luka & Bill Duffy. Only fair this is how Nico’s guys get treated

  9. > Sources said there was some concern from Dumont about how Mavs fans would react to a Davis deal that didn’t include premium draft picks or players who fit into the franchise’s long-term plans as part of the return.

Dumont is still completely out of his depth. The fans are much more knowledgeable about the NBA than the Mavs owner himself. They knew there wouldn’t be a premium return and that a trade was inevitable.

  10. Honestly this makes me like the trade even less for the Mavs. One of the reasons everyone was screaming he has to be traded was that playing out his contract without extending him would upset Rich Paul and the Clutch Sports mafia….this might have been as bad. Just saying

  11. Why would the Mavs be obliged to communicate with a guy who doesn’t play and can’t be bothered to keep his mouth shut? Did that clown Rich Paul tell them before he went to the media with his demands for an entirely undeserved extension?

  12. Given the fact that AD was only able to play 29 games for us, he shouldn’t be able to really have a say in where he went. He straight up got injured in his first game for us. Sad to say, but that was probably for the best.

  13. The Mavs didn’t discuss a trade with Luka, either. And he actually deserved one.

Why does Anthony and his camp feel like they needed to be included in any discussion? He didn’t have a no trade clause.

The only reason they wanted a discussion is so they could leak out that anyone trading for him would run the risk of him not signing an extension or sitting out.

News Flash: Davis naturally sits out due to injury and the Wizards couldn’t care less about an extension if he isn’t playing. They didn’t really give up any assets that they are going to beat themselves up about if Davis decides to leave.

  14. I am not sure i am in board with getting black listed by an agent. We should have done an AD trade after getting an actual GM. I get people hate Rich paul but he has connection to alot of players and even is agent of couple of players on our team. Not sure what the reason is to get on his bad side when its harming us.

Between this and the interview where the co gms wanted to say we can go back to a winning culture after trading AD is just bad looks for us. Good luck. These guys are running a circus and a GM needs to be hired otherwise they are acting like Nico now.
