  1. Notice how no current relevant pro athletes give SAS or FT the time of day anymore. All that do, are guys at the end of their careers, trying to get a job in the next stage of their life.

He used to have inside access/information to various players/coaches/front office people in sports based on his journalism career- but over the last 20 years or so of his being provocateur, that has dwindled. Especially since all of those people he hd access to, have retired and aged out.

Which is why the former athletes he works with, are a necessity for the show. He is essentially a co-host anymore, with loud takes that lack any real credibility to stir the pot, where he used to be at least somewhat credible in his analysis. I suppose it’s a natural evolution of his career, as people like Skip and Maddog are very similar as the got older.

They must see the writing on the wall, that modern sports fans don’t need or want middle men gate keeper journalists with no personal experience in what they are speaking about, when first pros have gained a platform and the ability to discuss such things with far more credibility. I have to believe the networks see it too, which is why you see such an influx of people who actually did play/coach/etc, being added to their platforms. There are very few, if any new pure journalists being added to this networks, because modern sports fans don’t need want the opinions of those who haven’t actually done the thing, as we are know exactly what they do already.

Also notice how defensive SAS gets anytime he feels athletes/coaches/front office people call out such “dog whistles” him and hustles used to profit off of them. I think it is a sign of him slowly and steadily being pushed out, and honestly, it’s hide fault for choosing to be a character, instead of having character.

But in the flip, at least he got paid first. But he, and others like him, have ruined it for the future generations of sports journalists. Doubt he really cares about that though.

  2. Simply, so meaningless to listen to those talking heads. Poor quality, shallow content than what many analysts on the YouTube are doing, really.

  3. Claiming you backed the Seahawks after the NFC Championship game is not saying you’ve been respecting them all year that’s the biggest case of after the fact 😭😭

  4. I love SAS acting like some tough guy. He did the same with Lebron James. Sports world is so over this stupid charade. Smith is a CLOWN and nobody cares what he says. ESPN should fire him. It's embarrassing what this guy has done to sport media.

  5. He had Justin Jeff and JSN so they were lights out. You doubt a QB that throws 20 ints during the regular season and who had things turned around during the last few games with the previous team. So there were doubters that he would choke again during the big moments. He played lights out during the division championship game and again defense kept them in the game during SB.

  6. SA, no you don't owe anyone an apology. We didn’t ask for one. We simply said to the doubters (aka you), f you. Just take that. No explanation. No defending yourself. No apology needed. Just bend over and take it.

  7. Disrespected is a strong word, Overlooked i can live with, all season they would get at most 30 seconds a week mention, they Seattle have something great going on… If they can keep this team in check by bringing back the core of this seasons Superbowl Championship winning team

  8. People were saying the Seahawks were going to finish dead last in the NFC West, some even saying Cardinals would win the division. Even having the Seahawks getting the number 1 pick… The Seahawks were completely disrespected at the start of the 2025 season and most of the season. Go Hawk! Seattle Seahawks Superbowl Champs!
