Miami Dolphins NFL Draft Plan REVEALED? MAJOR Dolphins Draft Rumors

Miami Dolphins NFL Draft rumors following the Super Bowl take a turn. Dolphins rumors feature a lot of connections being made to LSU CB, Mansoor Delane, and Tennessee CB, Jermod McCoy. ESPN’s Field Yates, Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt, CBS Sports, and Pro Football Focus all released NFL mock drafts this week that featured Miami taking one of Delane or McCoy. The Dolphins roster does desperately need an addition to the CB room as Juju Brents, Storm Duck, and Jason Marshall Jr. are the three players on the Dolphins depth chart. Chat Sports host Nic Rohloff examines the Dolphins rumors on today’s show. Nic also does a Mansoor Delane scouting profile and a prospect breakdown of Jermod McCoy.

Dane Brugler on Jermod McCoy:
“Though he doesn’t have elite length or athletic upside, Delane is fluid to open and has enough speed to stay in phase against either vertical or in-breaking routes. He is instinctive in coverage and understands down and distance, which allows him to settle and close without any wasted or panicked movements — he allowed zero touchdowns and committed zero penalties in 2025.”

Dane Brugler on Mansoor Delane:
“The bad news is McCoy doesn’t have any 2025 tape. The good news is McCoy’s 2024 tape is really, really good. He is patient, agile and balanced in press man, with the reactive athleticism to gear up or down quickly. He shows terrific awareness in zone coverage to feel and bait routes around him while also being able to drive on the action in front of him.”

  1. I know Miami should’ve taken PS2 over Waddle! I said it at the time and I was PISSED when they took Waddle!!! Partially why I don’t like Waddle. Meanwhile PS2 is arguably the best CB in the NFL since being a rookie.

  2. Hope they went for the BPA, not for need, and we have so many needs, that would be probable both need and BPA, hope for a CB or DE, but we dont know the draft board of this new Dolphins, but we could saw that they like big and atletic players, Marshall, Zach Kuntz, the new CB, so I would expect, that traits in our selected playeres-

  3. Dolphins will be running a 4-3… Sonny Styles in the 1st to go with Brooks and Dotson… Edge in the 2nd to go with Chop.. then maybe a corner.. if we resign Rasul and maybe Jones… Kohou and Duck coming back bring back Minkah … LB would be a strength and core of the defense.

  4. Not one single team's draft plans have been revealed. Come on dude, it's like a state secret the way they conduct their draft strategy and rank players.

  5. I know we are getting close to the draft so I wanted to share a mock draft I did and explain some of it
(Did this before Chambliss was allowed to return to CFB and am assuming Tua, Hill, and Chubb wont be on the roster for next season)
Pick 11: Jermod McCoy: I think taking a CB at 11 is absolutely the way to go in this draft as long as McCoy or Delane are available. WR is my second biggest need but I believe this WR is plenty deep enough to target it later. McCoy to me is a prospect whose 2024 tape was way too elite to pass up on and if he lives up to it, he would immediately be a top CB in this league, even considering the injury he took which does worry me but imo the reward with him is too high. I would not mind Delane either at all, to me its either one or the other but I do give the edge to McCoy altough I fully understand why his injury worries so many. IMO, here at 11 if either McCoy or Delane are available the pick HAS to be one of them, barring a miracle and having someone like Reuben Bain, Mauigoa or Caleb Downs being available here.

Pick 43: Omar Cooper Jr: To me the best WR avaiable after the consensus top 5 (who will likely be taken in the first or early second.) High possibility Omar is not available here but if so, to me not taking him would be a massive mistake. A fall back option would be Chris Bell if Omar is unavailable or even someone like Sarratt but to me Omar stands above both. Should we go WR at 11 a CB is absolutely necessary here and the only one worth taking if available would be Keith Abney (my CB3 in this draft) or Cisse who I dont believe either would fall this far. WR class is plenty deep and I think here is the pick to target it. (could also see us taking a DE in this spot which I also wouldnt mind)

Trade up to 69 with texans (Trading 75 and a 7th from this year and if needed next year) Pick: Trinidad Chambliss: Call me crazy but to me Chambliss is the QB with the most upside behind Mendoza in this class. Ofcourse a developmental player but has already shown the ability to be great in the clutch and has a good a deep ball you will find in this class. I personally would LOVE to take him in the third and have him fight for a spot with Malik Willis and Ewers. To me, he is QB2 in this class in the long run and hitting a homerun with him would turn this franchise around completely.

Pick 87: Romello Height: Dont really see him falling to this spot but would be a bandaid on the loss of Phillips and Chubb. A talented edgerusher who complimented David Bailey at Texas Tech who to me is the 6th best Edge rusher in this class. Him being available here would be increible and a no-brainer pick in my opinion.

Pick 90: Kamari Ramsey: Dont see him falling here AT ALL but the simulation i used chose to let him fall to the dolphins lap. Ramsey would compliment Fitzpatrick (or replace him should he be traded) at the safety position and to me the 4th best safety in this class. (Big fan of Emmanuel McNeil who of course wont be here barring a miracle.) Ramsey would add to a terrible defense and imo would be a possible day 1 starter on this team.

Pick 111: Keylan Rutledge: Best available interior lineman at this point in the draft and with 3 young QB's on the roster, protecting them is essential. Rutledge I have as the 3rd best guard in this very weak class at the position and him being avaiable here would make for a great pick to have him compete for a spot on our Oline.

Pick 149: Jude Bowry: Showed promise at BC but ofcourse someone who would have to fight for a spot on the roster at all. I like the idea of taking a tackle at some point in this draft with Austin jacksons future being so uncertain and altough Bowry would not be a replacement at all, I like the idea of someome coming in to show their worth and compete for a spot at such a crucial position for any roster.

IMO this draft class would be an A+ for me and a somewhat dream scenario, I would enjoy feedback and opinions about what you or anyone in the comments would do differently!
