  1. Tanking should be based on how good the teams are. Better teams like Indy & the jazz can be punished like this :
-Rate the players based on efficiency/all star appearances
-if players are found to be resting or benched after the 1st half(when healthy), add a point per player.
-For every game where 3 points are received, tally the results to a consequence : decided by the league depending on the rating of the best players
    **the consequences can include:
    -a stripped all star appearance
-the ability to deny a trade or matching a rfa offer sheet
-relegating a favorable lottery pick to the end of the lottery
came up w/ this in like 3 minutes

  2. If NBA teams really care about their fans, they shouldn't be tanking and should play their starters/stars if they are healthy to play!
Teams like Jazz and Pacers this season are insulting and disrespectful to their fans!

  3. I don't think there's much of a fix rn. I just heard something potentially about them doung a tournament among worst teams but like just think if a team is just actually really bad it wont fair to them then. In terms of tanking every sport has it. If its obvious to the point of what Utah has been doing yeah fine them but its not gonna stop them. If the NBA actually cared about this then this would have been dealt with a long time ago. NBA needs to focus more on eliminating back to hacks to ensure higher availability and less injuries among players instead ot worrying about this crap rn.

  4. The Utah Jazz are worth 4.1 BILLION DOLLARS
The Indiana Pacers are worth 4.2 BILLION DOLLARS

The Utah Jazz fine is for a GRANT TOTAL OF 0.1% of the total value of the Jazz
The Pacers fine is for a grant total of LESS THAN 0.1% of the total value of the Pacers.

THIS FINE IS A COMPLETE FUCKING JOKE.
Adam Silver is a clown. This fine is so small, so irrelevant, such a minus worthless joke that is like throwing 1/4 of a glass of water to a nuclear explosion fire

This fines are so damn pathetic is like picking up a SINGLE MOLECULE of sand out of the beach and say "I clean up the beach from all the sand".

  5. Make it so teams like Utah have just as high of chances of getting stars in free agency as Lakers, Until this happens small markets will always tank and it’s just the best way for them to contend long term with the big markets. OKC did this for Chet but they are hippocrites that are trying to get the Jazz in trouble cause they want their pick to build to their dynasty.

  6. If there was relegation system this wouldn't be happening.. teams would actually be trying to win bcuz if they don't they'd be relegated. Imagine all the fans that paid money to go watch their team intentionally lose? Like how is it even right

  7. I think a large portion of the fanbase WANTS the Jazz to tank. They are sick of losing and they realize the only way the team is going to get better is by nailing the top of the draft. If free agents would actually go to small markets in the off-season, teams like the Jazz wouldn't have to tank in order to acquire talent. Some fans just want the team to play to win, and I understand that, but being that mid-tier purgatory is awful.

The irony in all of this is the fact that these 3 would never willingly play in Utah during their playing days, then they will turn around and criticize the Jazz for tanking.

  8. Tanking has been going on since 1984 when Houston tanked to get Hakeem. Spurs have done it multiple times and were rewarded with Robinson, Duncan, and Wemby. Many teams have tanked.
But now we are toing suddenly punish the Jazz? Change the rules if you want, but to fine the Jazz like this is very arbitrary. Making rules on the fly is not right.

  9. if the team is tanking for a better chance for a higher pick, as a fan i would understand, nba should fine the teams by enforcing them to book better performances during breaks and the halftime show, fans aint gonn see the team win but would still go for the shows, if they're benching stars then make them meet and greet fans instead.

  10. I went to an NBA game once. Paid decent money. My team was playing Dallas. Coach Nelson sat his whole starting 5 because they had to play a game the next night and he thought the next night would be a good chance to win if he rested his starters. He was up front about it.
I watched a very boring game. No starter played after half time.
    Nobody whined about that
    WHY?

  11. Hold up the Lakers held out 4/5 and nothing was said.. This is bad for you you guys to speak on it.. Also just because you say Right it doesn't mean that you are Right. This Right saying is driving me crazy….

  12. Siakam is playing a career high in minutes this year! They rested him 2 games on the second night of back to backs and played him the whole 4th qter the game before trying to get wins while they won both games! Pacers aren't even trying to lose. It's pretty bullshit.

  13. That’s what the fuck happens when you rig drafts. Many of these teams have never gotten a first pick and never will. What else would they do? They are going to try building another OKC with a bunch of good young players to win

  14. Tanking is not the problem, it is a symptom of the problem. The problem is this is the only real avenue small market teams can get MVP caliber superstars to change their franchises. Markets like LA, Miami, NY etc don’t have that problem because they can go the trade or free agent route too. What we have is tons of teams floundering year after year, Jazz, Kings, Pelicans, Hornets etc etc. nobody is jumping to go to those franchises and nobody wants to be traded there. The only avenues they have is to tank and get a shot at a franchise altering player. Much like the Spurs did for Duncan and for Wemby. And the CAVS did years ago. Rachel Nichols listed a stat in the past 45 years only 5 teams have won a championship without having the MVP or a former or future MVP leading the team. The league needs to address this.

  15. how about the all teams that didn't make the playoffs will be ranked like #17 will have the 1st pick, #18 2nd pick, and so on.

That way, trash teams(tanking or not) WILL NOT BE REWARDED with high picks. NBA need to punish those LOSING CULTURE/MENTALITY.
Instead, they will have to gamble, settle, and pray that the 10-14th picks are gems/diamonds to save them from being trash.
Though there were great players drafted between 10-25. So they still have a chance to get good rookies.
