I want it filled out by all the haters (even though I still think he should get traded if we can get a first rounder plus for him)

  1. Love it, dude is amazing in big games. Hoping he can keep it up.

But let’s also not get ahead of ourselves. This WAS a prelim after all..

  2. He played great. Not sure a prelim against Czechia is the deciding measure to negate the last 6 months but if it continues through playoff rounds it would be.

  3. I was going to comment that maybe you should slow your roll, then I saw the future first ballot hall of famer bit. You’re too far gone.

  4. Do people realize Jordan Binnington had a 26 save shutout like a month ago as well?

    Then he lost 7 games in a row never allowing less than 3 goals and with SV% of .800, .875, .821, .842, .833, .818, and .821.

I hope Binnington goes nuts these Olympics and raises his trade value. But people oughta cool it acting like this one game proves anything.

  5. I think these should have been sent after the 4 nations. Today’s game …not so much.

  6. Goalies do not bring solid returns at the deadline. Remember how underwhelming the Artemi Panarin return was? It’d be less than that even.

  7. The moneypuck checkbox is great. They’re not wrong about his performance but rating goalies heavily on xGoals (a very flawed but useful model) doesn’t tell the whole story. I’ve seen near un-saveable shots get assessed as 0.07 xGoals on moneypuck. It prioritizes shot distance a lot and rebound shots. But a cross crease pass which leads to an easy slap in is always severely underrated.

  8. The only way his stock SIGNIFICANTLY grows is if he, like, shuts out the entire Olympic field every single game. Otherwise, I just don’t see a GM overlooking [points at everything]

  9. You can start by filling it out yourself then, since you think he should get traded. Lmfao pathetic hypocrite

  10. First ballot HOF? Do objective followers of the NHL actually believe that Binnington is a first ballot hof goalie? Or is this more homer delusion?

Praise him, love him, fight haters for him but when you hear Bordeur, Lindqvist, Hasek, Roy, Belfour, Fuhr, Dryden, and Esposito you think, “Yeah they’re the same as Jordan.”?

Most recent first ballot goalies have 3x games played, SOs, and even Belfour has better career GAA and Save %, career save % Belfour ranks 85th, 2 spots behind Roman Turek.

  11. If he did anything all he did was prove that he doesn’t give a crap about the Blues.

Apparently his day job isn’t worth an actual effort. He oughta be the one apologizing.

  12. Were I the Canadian coach, I would have started Thompson. Mainly because Binnington has been ass this year.

That said ^(admitted*), I still love Binny and was delighted to eat crow on this!!!

  13. Seems like a lot of people just check stat lines after games. He is not the reason we have been losing. Our D is awful. Gets outplayed every game and yet some people want to put all the blame on the goalies.

If you actually watch a game with the focus only on our defense, you will instantly see how bad and outplayed they are. Dudes literally watching the puck opposed to going after it. Standing around in an area and expecting someone else to make a play. There is no urgency on Defense and our goaltending takes the blame.

  14. Will always appreciate what he’s done but he’s been one of worst goalies in NHL this season.

  15. I’m not sure Czechia should be the measuring stick of this post… but good to see him play well

  16. He should be apologizing for saving his best for Team Canada. If he played like this the full season, this team would be fighting with Minnesota and Dallas for a home playoff series.

  17. When he is on his game, he is one of the best. When he isn’t he is below average. He is also extremely inconsistent. If you look at his career you see spurts of greatness and spurts of being very bad. The 2019 Cup run was a microcosm of what his career has become.

  18. Been saying it all season. Dude knows the team in front of him is hot garbage and even if he was able to keep 1 to 2 more goals out by himself the team is so dogshit we either give up 3 more because of defense or just don’t score. The man is a demon and wants to compete, but there isn’t anything to compete for except last place

  19. Love Binner. He has never gotten the love from national media he deserves and he is the most competitive dude in the NHL. That said… He has been fucking awful this year. You can’t just blame the D and pretend that Hofer hasn’t been able to stop the other team from scoring 7 goals every night.

  20. He’s always been great but he can’t be the only person playing defense at St Louis every year. He needs help up front and he locks it down
