Colorado Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer on Zac Veen’s sobriety: “Looks fantastic; In a great spot”

Zac Veen struggled with the Colorado Rockies after his Major League debut in 2025. Speaking with Thomas Harding of MLB.com, Veen admitted to abusing marijuana and alcohol in the past.

Now sober and 40 pounds heavier than he finished the season, Veen is in a good spot according to manager Warren Schaeffer. The first-year skipper has known the 24-year-old since he was a teenager and considers the ninth overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft like a son to him.
