From the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Kansas City Royals, how did you team do in free agency and the trade market? The Dodgers signed Kyle Tucker and The Yankees signed Cody Bellinger, but was that enough to give them good offseasons, or were these signings not enough?

  1. Chicago White Sox fan here
thank you for the A- grade. I agree I’d say A- as well. Mune,Seranthony,Kay,Newcomb,Hicks,Hays,Acuna, hella prospects and first pick in the draft this summer

  2. My Padres getting a bad grade hurts, but it is what it is. I was hoping the Padres would make a move on Geno for power, but they missed out on that opportunity (considering how cheap the Reds got him for given his numbers). I’m just praying they make it to the playoffs, because, I’m fully aware that the Dodgers are taking the NL West this season.

  3. Ok
please just hear me out. Yankees should have a B- at the least. You cannot tell me that losing pitchers with a >4.00 ERA is a bad offseason. That’s addition of subtraction. Then they went out and got Cody Bellinger and Grisham- two guys who hit 29 and 34 home runs with gold glove defense. Then they went out and traded for Ryan Weathers and why that’s so good is that they have him as a starter until Cole and Rodon come back. Then he moves to the bullpen. The bullpen isn’t the problem anymore, and they also got a bunch of bats that could be really great if one of them goes down. I believe it was a great offseason. And I do also think it was a good offseason for the Red Sox so props👏👏👏 Also I’ve been checking everywhere where di Elmer come from. What trade

  4. Was this recorded after or before Sanchez to the jays? Also why don’t you like the jays if kazuma + Sanchez basically replaces Bo and scherzer barely played, seranthomy was only here for a few months and Chris bassitt is mediocre. What’s their score now or is it still B-

  5. Yeah you ought to admit you’re ignorant to the reasoning behind the Brewers’ moves. Isaac Collins and Caleb Durbin both didn’t haven’t solid long-term outlooks on the roster given the organization’s upper minors depth at their respective positions. Nick Mears was out of minor league options (something the front office deeply covets for flexibility in the bullpen). Tobias Myers had an early season injury last year that made him fall down the ladder of the starter depth, and he ultimately became an odd man out in the overall pitching staff. Freddy Peralta was a coin flip on remaining in Milwaukee for the final year of his contract, but they managed to cash out with two league-ready Top 100 prospects.

The Brewers made these moves for the future in terms of their best prospects getting closer to The Show, and for financial flexibility under whatever terms the new CBA will be. They have envious organizational pitching depth, are loaded with very promising prospects at every infield position, and are saving up to give Jesus Made a Chourio-esque contract if he makes to AAA by the end of this season. Lastly, Matt Arnold is back-to-back recipient of Executive of the Year. His resume has been great for building a sustainable contender in the league’s smallest market. His moves won’t look flashy on the spot, but they often pay off well down the road.

  6. I may just be coping because our owners don’t spend, but I think the Brewers played the long game this offseason. With a lockout/strike happening next year, our talent will still get to develop in the minors while the strike happens in the majors. It seems like we’re trying to make a big push to win it all in 2028 (or maybe I’m just delusional, idk)

  7. 15:29 they didnt get more relievers because they got like 3 starters coming back from injury that are going to the bullpen and they have actual relievers coming back as well. They actually have too many pitchers.

  8. The Mets also had a poor off-season. Williams is terrible and not even in the same universe as Diaz and Bichette will come nowhere close to making up for the offensive void left by Alonso. C-

  9. Hello Pesky love your content I comment on the offseason video regarding jays and I didn’t expect you to respond. I think the jays should get a A- since they just traded Joey for Sanchez from the Astros, and stat wise Sanchez is better in Joey when consider power and with help of David Poplins he can be a good replacement for Santander. Also I think you have to give them the benefit of the doubt that their the only MLB team outside of the US which for obvious reasons in Canada it is harder the get free agents unless you overpay or get lucky with Tyler rogers, look at the NHL for example. Can make a video about this because I have been advocating time and time again that the only way to guarantee a free agent lands with the Jays is to overpay a bit.

  10. Honestly a C for the Giants is extremely fair. I look at the off season as a "is the team better or worse then last year" and by that metric, I have to say that the Giants are at best right where they left off. I have thought that Posey has gone out of his way to be the "ANTI-ZAIDI" when we needed to learn from Zaidi and improve the position player Corp WHILE keeping the flexibility for the pitching staff. Posey has gotten more out of position players but at the heavy cost of losing the pitching. I still think the Giants need to just eat the deep rebuild since our roster is an absolute mess with no hope of resolution and just spinning the tires of mediocrity. We need to throw everything into making the team good in 4 years.

  11. Dude, stop bashing the Twins. The Pohlad family came out and said they want to compete this year. The Twins had a decent but not good offseason. They also were in on Freddie Peralta for example. Meanwhile, the Red Sox should get a D+, because they lost Alex Bregman, they didn’t sign Pete Alonso, they brought in a retirement home duo from the Cardinals who are not good anymore. They are not didn’t trade Duran for better pitching. The Red Sox will go 83-79 with the way the ownership operates. Stop

  12. Mariners should be bumped up to at least an A-. I think you are overvaluing some of the prospects they gave up to get Donavan. Also Suarez was not great once he got to Seattle and I knew they weren’t going to resign him. The only thing that really stings as a Mariners fan was losing Polanco, but it is what it is.

  13. I’m not hating on you bro but with some of these grades it kinda seem like you where nit picking also you dint really analyze the signings or how they impact the team;you mostly js went off names and talent instead of focusing how they impact team chemistry or if it was something the team actually needed

  14. I haven’t commented in a while but man the Yankees disappointed me so much but it’s expected at this point. They didn’t sign anybody they needed and decided to run it back with a team that didn’t get past the alds. Fire everyone

  15. Tigers are going to be solid this year! How awesome would it be to bring JV back and win a WS for his retirement? You can hate the Tigers, but ya have to admit that would be solid!

  16. You had some editing mistakes, saying one score but putting something different on the screen. However, I think the Reds had a good offseason. Getting Suarez is huge because the Reds desperatly need a power bat so teams can't just pitch around Elly. Getting bullpen help was huge too and actually kept most of the players that got them to the playoffs. Their rotation is going to be scary this year.

  17. Cards fan here. Just wanted to say thanks for the fair analysis. Alotta folks think we've just sold ourselves up the river, bur we've quietly gone and assembled one of the better minor league systems with controllable talent. We have young guys we hope to develop as we have a revamped development system now. We have controllable arms to get us through the now that might turn out better than expected or be trade pieces later. Overall a great move when you look at the organization as a whole and I really appreciate the full analysis being given here.

  18. Blue jays off season wasn’t great because they lost bichette, and couldn’t land tucker. But it was out of their control that they lost those two since the mets and dodgers overpaid. But they handled it really well in my opinion, getting kazuma okamoto, and getting pitching. Like it wasn’t great for them, but they handled it very well. And they’re definitely better than last season unless player regress.

  19. Gio is never a loss, that guys stinks. I think when people assess the Red Sox offseason, they look at it as a positive on the acquisition side, but the optics of giving away what they've given away over the last 10 years for really next to nothing, just does not look good on the organization. With that said I hope the curb stomp both birds in the division.

  20. The pain of being a Cleveland fan knowing that for some reason ownership won’t build around the best team-friendly deal the franchise has seen
 sigh

  21. The Astros have had a perfect offseason for what was needed the Astros were the second best team in the league when they were healthy this being July 4 when they beat the dodgers 18/1 they were the hottest team and simply looked the best even somehow over the dodgers then it happened
    Peña injured
    Myers injured
    Paredes injured
    Sousa injured
    Haded injured
    Spencer injured
    lMJ injured
    Yordan injured
This team has the potential to be the 1 seed in the al if they are healthy tatsuya imai is going to post a 3 era burrows has great stuff with a high walk rate that can be fixed
And your adding Carlos Correa to a team who was first in the AL on top of that
And framber was a awful teammate he should have been released after the incident I said that right after that happened because of clubhouse reasons
I give the offseason a a- did what they needed on a small budget they have a stacked roaster with a massive amount of upside but a lot of downsides if not everyone works out

  22. It’s nice seeing angels and pirates (two of the most lousy and cheap team with angels being my fav team) actually have an above average offseason. I’m jus hoping angels can actually put something int practice otherwise more chants of selling the team

  23. I don’t know where you’ve found these people that say “mariners won the off-season” they signed Naylor. Traded Ford and another for some sloppy second player who can’t hit. They lost Polanco one of the only players that had an average over .260 and didn’t make a meaningful contribution till the final buzzer. Most mariners fans were getting really pissed

  24. The Jays:
I know you keep bringing up Scherzer, Dominguez and Bichette getting kicked as notable losses, but in all seriousness, they aren't as much as you think.

Scherzer is in his 40s and has been slipping at times. He wasn't what he used to be. He did have decent outings last year but you can't rely on that novelty act forever.

Dominguez was okay in the season but he was the shits in the Post-Season. He was the cause of:
    >Giving up 2 wins to the Mariners (him and Little blew Game 1 and ESPECIALLY Game 5 to the Suarez Grand Slam)
    >Threw Fastballs at Ohtani (who has some of the highest slugging capabilities on the Dudgers lineup against them) in Game 3 that let it become the 17 inning war
    >Caused a bases loaded nightmare that ultimately compromised the 3 run HR Bichette made in Game 7 that allowed Muncy, Rojas and Smith to inevitably win later on.
The only time Dominguez was worth something was when you wanted to protect your better bullpen guys and you had a comfortable 3-4+ run lead and you didn't want to use Hoffman.

Bichette, once again, good offensively, bad defensively, terrible at running and was injury prone with the legs of a 40+ year old man (7 injuries, 6 were legs in the last 3 years and his last injury that shelfed him was caused by bad baserunning into Wells). The Jays survived the rest of the season and through 2 teams without Bichette. The other Jays with their Contact Philosophy and Onbase% will make up for the bat and worst case, they can use the Trade Deadline to find and make another strong hitter or Okamoto could inevitably become Bichette 2.0 without the downsides. Only emotionally driven marks are going to seriously miss Bichette.

The real damaging losses was losing Bassitt to the Orioles, who got loads better this Offseason and Santander to shoulder problems AGAIN (which forced the Jays to trade Loperfido back to the Astros to get Sanchez to make a poor man's Santander). The upside was fixing the pitching problem (Cease, Ponce, Rogers, activating Tiedemann, etc.) and getting Okamoto, who will probably take a few months to worst case a year to adjust to MLB standards. Hopefully Bieber's injury isn't too serious and he will be fine in 2 months.

Though when in doubt: David Popkins.
