Wemby on San Antonio and Spurs fans: “In my franchise, in my city, I’ve been welcomed from day one as if I had been there for 20 years. San Antonio and the people, the Spurs fans, really make it like there’s no pressure. They really make it like a part of the family. They make me super comfortable.”

I wish I had a YouTube video that linked to the actual press conference but this is the only link I have for now. I’ll try to update this whenever they post the full press conference.

Edit: Added a YouTube link for the full press conference.

  2. That’s our boy. The head he had on his shoulder for a young man is incredible. So proud to have him represent our franchise at the highest level. Also shout out to KJ for being here for our city as well. Always has been.

  3. I’ve never even been to San Antonio, but I’ve seen the Spurs in two different cities. Our fans are dope as shit.

  4. We love Wemby so so so much it’s cray how lucky we are to have found ‘the one’ 1of1 👽 and it’s mutual … I’m sleeping like a baby tonight on this alone ✌️👍👏💪

  5. This is not new. And it’s one of the coolest things about the team and its connection to the city.

The players really become a part of the fabric of San Antonio. The best evidence for that is how many of our stars have stuck around. It’s truly their home.

I’ve got so many stories of running into Spurs around town and most people I know do too. And for the most part everyone understands to just treat them like you would another local. George Hill and my daughter go to the same school and he’s always at class parties. Nobody is swarming him for autographs, but he’s not standoffish either. The same can be said for when I’ve run into David Robinson, Patty Mills, Danny Green, and Timmy.
