How some of the folks in this sub look while complaining about the end of this era

GnG won as many games as Next Gen played in.
That’s it. This team took underachieving to a whole new level.
This is a great point tbh
Ja’s rookie season, they get to the play-in… and lose. The next season, they’re in the playoffs and take the first game… aaaaaand then they lose four straight. The following year, was the first (*and only*) playoff series win. A second round loss to the eventual champs in a series that without key injuries, probably would have swung our way. It felt like continued success was an inevitability.
THAT is what people are *really* stuck on, even if they don’t know it.
In the entire time that the Grizzlies have been in Memphis, success has often felt *”possible”*… but *”inevitable”*?? We’ve never felt that. While I’m not complaining about the end of this era (*there were enough foundational issues with it that I’m more than happy to see a new phase*), I do understand how it can be hard to let go of a version of the team that made you feel like eventual success was something that the league just wasn’t going to be able to stop.
