  1. Rip man scared the hell out of me because the wizards current rookie is named Tre Johnson.

  2. Man this sucks. I was a teenager when he played so I remember him quite well. Was one of my favorite players.

  3. Loved watching him on pull plays. John Madden raved about him (made the All-Madden team twice). One of the few bright spots during those post-Gibbs days of the 90s (helped lead Terry Allen and Stephen Davis to career years)

Oh, and sticking up for Brad Johnson during the ‘99-‘00 Wild Card game.

    R.I.P. Tré

  4. I’ll never forget him punching that ref haha, always wished we’d have kept him around longer.

  5. Damn that’s sad to hear. Loved him as a player. Sounds like he was an even better person.

  6. I worked at a Best Buy in like 04 and rung him up. He was so big dude didn’t look human, might been the first NFL player I saw in person. Damn….54 is just too young. R.I.P.

  7. in that 1999 season, tre was having a career year and was the unsung hero of the line, powering an explosive Brad Johnson lead offense. He went down late in the season and the team was never the same. He was phenomenal and I will always remember him fondly. RIP brotha

  8. Damn this is sad, I used to date his daughter a few years back. I’m praying for their family.
