I’m curious how everyone approaches buying Pats jerseys.

Do you stick with old-school / retired Patriots legends so you don’t have to worry about them leaving? Or do you go with current roster players even though there’s always the chance they get traded or sign somewhere else?

I feel like buying a current player is more fun in the moment, but there’s always that risk of being stuck with a jersey if they don’t pan out or move on.

How do you guys usually decide?

  2. I go with the current QB and well as old school players. Older jerseys are higher quality as well compared to fanatics junk.

  4. Don’t buy one at the Patriots or Fanatics stores. The quality of their jerseys are trash, they don’t offer stitched, and they are overpriced. Pickup one from ebay. Half the price and stitched.

  5. I do both. I usually buy a jersey a year, and I unintentionally have stuck to the pattern of doing a legend followed by current and repeat.

    Last year I bought a Develin jersey, this year I bought a Maye jersey.

    If you are going to get a jersey of a current player just get one of who you love, bonus points if they are under contract for some time. I have a Sony Michel and Cam Newton jersey, I don’t regret buying either one. I loved both those players and their time with the team, I just look at those jerseys as memories now.

  7. Get a player you like. If you pick a jersey and they go to another team, do you still like them as a player? I’ve got a Josh Gordon that I still wear proudly. That dude was a beast.

  10. I have a legion of Brady jerseys.

    I added Gronk, Edelman, and Amendola.

    All have Super Bowl patches for the games they played in.

    I don’t have any of this team’s gear, but I’d be partial to a home blue Maye.

  12. I don’t buy them. It’s basically a monopoly from one group that makes them all and they all suck and they’re all overpriced

  13. I use DHGATE personally. I bought a Gonzo Rivalry jersey that looks identical to the game day jerseys and it was $30 with shipping

  14. I find it lame that the selection of legends older jersey is very minimal. May be an unpopular opinion but I think it’s very dumb to get the new jersey style with old players names/numbers.

  15. Similar sentiment to a lot of the other people here. Crazy price for shit quality so my get around is buying a Mac Jones jersey then a custom name plate off Amazon and stitching (or getting someone else to stitch) it on for you!

    Sometime before this season there was a crazy sale and I got a Adult Large Jones jersey for ~$35 pair that with a $15 name plate and boom, you got Drake Maye

  16. In the past I have ONLY purchased players that are either legendary to the franchise (Brady, Gronk, Edelman) or ironic (Haynesworth, Lynch, Katzenmoyer).

    Typically I refuse to purchase current players because they move on so quickly and then you’re stuck with a Mac Jones or Cam Newton jersey.

    But this run I decided that Drake earned a change, and purchased a Nor’easter #10. But just in case, I also bought a red, throwback Flutie #2 😆

  17. I have a fanactics one im selling for cheap its authentic im selling it on ebay so I’d assume there’s others just like me

  18. i just buy a random non star player i like from china, only way for me to have to get rid of the jersey is if they get arrested for doing something awful or something

  19. You certainly can’t go wrong with buying vintage jerseys of franchise legends. Those won’t go out of style barring, like, an OJ situation. I like getting new players (got gifted a Treveyon jersey this year because I’m an Ohio State fan), but the prices are harder to justify.

  20. I bought a Rivalries Hunter Henry jersey this year. He has been with us the last couple of shit years and has been a star within the team. I’ll probably get a Maye jersey for my next one. I was burned with my Mac Jones ones after his rookie year lol.

  21. Ebay has great deals, keep your eyes peeled.

    However, be prepared to buy one for a player that is no lomger on the roster.

  25. I have a mix, whatever feels right. They include a throwback Grogan, Milloy, Law, Moss… Gronk SB, Blount, Hightower, Slater… women’s Edelman… and 2 #12s, “BRADY” and “F GOODELL.”

    And the true gem, #55 Cassius Marsh. 😳

  26. The current quality is so terrible, you are better off buying the knock off one from tiktok. The Fanatics jerseys feel like buying a fake.

  27. I pretty much only get legends jerseys, but plan on picking up Maye and Gonzo soon, I feel like they’re going to be around a long time

  28. My rule is to get retired player/legend (Brady and Vrabel for me currently) or if it’s a current player they have to been signed to a second contract. So I expect that to be next year for Drake

  29. Imma be real here and say I’m probably the only one that got hyped enough to buy himself the white cam Newton jersey and wish for the blue one as my birthday present by my friends.

    So I’m a bit cautious. Almost bought the London special edition rhamondre jersey last year, but quality was really ass and I couldn’t find myself spending 250€ for it.

    My next jersey will be gonz0 once he is resigned for the long long.

  31. I bought Maye jerseys earlier this season. One in Blue and one in White. First jerseys I have purchased since a blue Bruschi back when he was playing (the old Reebok jerseys are SO much better than these new shit Nike ones). If they give Gonzo the contract he deserves, I will buy a Gonzales jersey next year.

  32. I’ve been cautious ever since Mac Jones. You never know how employers’s time and your team could go could start out great and then ending shit side out shit and then end. Great they could leave after a couple of seasons or retire on your team.

    Why I unless I really love that player I will not buy a jersey that has a name on it only blanks and since you can’t really have a blank football jersey like you can with hockey and baseball I just don’t really think I want any like at least with hockey. The logo is on the front and not numbers so if you get a blank one, it looks normal. Can’t have that with football.
