Can’t have it both ways

  1. So by your logic, the Dallas Cowboys need to become the Arlington Cowboys?

I don’t agree with them wanting to go over state lines, but if they go to Arlington Heights, it would be silly to NOT still call them the Chicago Bears

  2. Tell that to the Las Vegas Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commies, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Giants, and New York Jets.

I don’t believe they got the message

  3. I’ll be honest. If they move the only thing that will grind my gears for eternity is the fight song. It says “Pride and joy of Illinois.”

    But whatever.

  4. First friend I ever met in college said to me “I’m from Chicago… Well, Naperville, but close enough.”

  5. I hate suburbs they ruin everything. They force us into shitty car focused infrastructure, have sapped our great cities of revenue, are ecological disasters, disasters for our schools, and they steal historic sports teams on top of all of that. Fuck that. Fuck suburbs. Fuck people who defend them too. I hope gas goes up to $10 a gallon soon

  6. Aside from the Bears stadium talks, gatekeeping a city is weird. Even if you’re from Naperville, you can still eat Italian beef, call it Aldi’s, and fly a Chicago flag if those things make you happy.

  7. Hot take, NWI is more a part of Chicago than a lot of the suburbs. Hammond borders Chicago and culturally and historically they are intertwined. A lot of Chicago classics are set in NWI like A Christmas Story. NWI is a punching bag because of how polluted and blighted it is, but would we be having such a conniption if they were moving the team to Melrose Park?

  8. Just lump them in with all the other NFL teams that I don’t actually play in they are respective cities like the 49ers

  9. If they actually go to Indiana, I’ll finally have something in common w the part of my family that refuses to root for the Bears just because the cardinals moved. Zero chance I’m rooting for the Indiana bears.
