  1. @Doug – Im curious and I suspect this would make for an interesting video, we generally can tell right away if TE/WR/RB/QB rookies are doing well in their rookie year and we end up going, oh we should had taken this guy instead but Im curious in the first round, like how hit and miss are the OLine draft picks? Like are we overthinking the OL picks and for example, the top 5 Guards, Tackles, Centers regardless of the order they are picked all have long careers or do they suffer the same level of disparity between being a draft bust and a draft hit as other more visible positions.

To clarify, if we draft a RB or a WR in the first round and it doesnt pan out by year 3, usually we're drafting someone else to replace that individual and who we drafted will soon be gone from the roster meanwhile if that was an OLineman instead, are we keeping them regardless unless they are really really bad but no one should be really really bad that's drafted in the first round which means at the very least you have a serviceable player for his entire career even if it's a backup.. with the others, you're sending packing because you dont want a backup by year 2 or 3.

    Hope that make sense…

  2. Great podcast Doug , I hope we keep Brewer at center and maybe on edge lets see what we get at draft and who is available after June 1 when we have more money.

  3. Just because of rumors means nothing when it comes to QB's. New GM and new HC has said over and over there will be competitions in the QB position as well as Achane and others. They have said the more QB's in the QB room the better and their fixing the starting oline and back up oline which is a breathe of fresh air but they have to fix that PASS PROTECTION OLINE and with Tua the Dolphins Organization has FAILED at putting an average or better than average oline for QB1 TUA in his 6 seasons Tua's had 31st,32nd, 25th, 31st, 26th, 29th and thats WAY BELOW AVERAGE OR BETTER THAN AVERAGE and you need that type of OLINE because the Defensive line to win 1 playoff game, or multiple playoff games, or the Super Bowl YOU MUST HAVE A OLINE THAT CAN BLOCK THAT TYPE DEFENSE IF YOU DON'T THEN BOTH YOUR QB1, RB, CAN'T DO THEIR JOBS AT THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE AND THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED IN 2025-2026 AND IT CAUSED INCONSISTENCIES IN 3 THINGS INCONSISTENCIES IN THE OLINE, QB1 TUA, and RB ROOM !!! THATS BECAUSE THE DEFENSIVE LINES THE DOLPHINS WENT UP AGAINST WAS BETTER THAN THE DOLPHINS OLINE AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE RT INJURIED MOST OF THE SEASON, RG OUT FOR THE SEASON BOTH BACK UP's PLAYED like 3rd string instead of back up's and ROOKIE Jonah had to relearn the Guard position and get use to the speed of the NFL Defenses. This ALL WASN'T TUA'S FAULT what wins playoff games is having aoline thats average or better than average oline because the opponents Defensive line is going to be average or better than average DEFENSIVE LINE and when you have
31st,32nd, 25th, 31st, 26th, 29th, oline in 6 seasons your set up to just win games and go no further through the playoffs and thats NOT on Tua thats on the oline and the participants that are also blocking on that particular down. Tua has done his job as a QB1 by going to the Pro Bowl as a starter, Tyreek getting 1700 yds receiving , 1799 yds receiving, Jonnu breaking every TE record in Dolphins history and his personal best, Waddle having the most receiving yards than any Miami Dolphins WR 1000 yds receiving consistently except last season
ALL BECAUSE OF TUA AND AGAIN WINNING 1 PLAYOFF GAME , MULTIPLE PLAYOFF GAMES , OR SUPER BOWL(S) YOU MUST HAVE THE AVERAGE, OR BETTER THAN AVERAGE OLINE AND HAVE A DEFENSIVE LINE THATS AVERAGE OR BETTER THAN AVERAGE AND THE TEAMS THAT HAS DONE THIS RECENTLY : TEXANS, PATRIOTS, RAVENS, SEAHAWKS, CHEIFS, THAT HAS EITHER WON 1 PLAYOFF GAME OR MULTIPLE PLAYOFF GAMES OR SUPER BOWL(S) !!! The Miami Dolphins have FAILED AS AN ORGANIZATION to get the oline and defensive line right till they drafted Grant, Biggers, Jordan Phillips, and drafting Jonah as well but put him at RG NOT at LG !!! If the Dolphins trade Tua or release him and he goes on a team that has an average oline and average defensive line Tua will get you to the Super Bowl(s).
The Dolphins will be NO different than Tampa Bay Bucs when they belamed Steve Young for their GM problems and he got behind and average or better than average oline and his defensive line was average or better than average Defensive line and they won 2 Super Bowl(s) and samething with Doug Williams traded to the Redskins and was the first black QB1 to win a Super Bowl both also went into the HOF and it was TAMPA'S OLINE THAT WAS THE PROBLEM !!!

  4. It would be interesting to see what percentage of people turned off the video at 7:57 mark when Doug brought up Malik Willis again 🫩 It's the new universal exit point.

  5. It's a 1st for achane and or waddle. They can use that first in alot of different ways. That #11 pick is also looking better with the combine results. Guys are gonna slide to that spot now. Teams are going to want to move up. Sadiq now could go in that 11 spot. Maybe he goes to chiefs at 9. Lots of opportunities in this draft for spots we need. Id still trade brewer he has high value this year. Why would we pay a center 15 million when his contract is up when we can draft one. I'm not paying brewer. He's good at moving. He has problems with pass rush because he's small. Draft a center and draft a kicker with a late pick.

  6. I wouldn't move Achane for less than an early first, or a package of multiple 2nds and 3rds or something. He's far and away the best player on the team, and he's still young enough that he will still be in his prime on the other end of the rebuild. Waddle is a few years older, and moving him now makes more sense, since he'll be creeping up on 30 by the time they are ready to compete again. I like Waddle, but if teams offer a late 1st or something in that range for him, I'd take it.

There's really no point in doing extensions or signing bonuses to free up cap space, since you'd be kicking the can down the road to when they'll be competing again. They should absorb as much of these contracts as they can this year, and that'll help free them up money in 27-28 when they might actually be in a decent position. I'd REALLY like to see a pre-June 1st cut for Tua, and get the whole thing off the books in one shot like a bandaid.

  7. I don’t want crazy moves in free agency. I want smart moves where we pick up players that are typically healthy. Fill out the roster and then develop those players while putting them in a position to succeed.

  8. Why is everyone worried about a bridge QB, it doesn’t make sense. Draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round, run with Ewers and a rookie. Don’t spend the money. Screw free agency unless you are signing in the 1-2 million range. Draft, draft, draft and if you don’t win games then you will be in a position to get a franchise QB in 27 and have more draft capital . Keep drafting and building up cap until you are clear of Tia’s hit. Then you can spend on a few elite players to get over the hump and stay competitive long term.

  9. Looking at this draft, I think they can get a corner, a rotational safety, a guard, a PS center, a swing tackle, a wide out, and maybe an edge and/or LB…and I think they can do that now that ChrisG is gone.

  10. The combine was awesome I was hoping I'd get to see one of y'all dolphinscollective there! Ik its cold here idk if id wanna take a trip here from sunny Florida either. Its a good time tho
