  1. Great choice if the goal is to get higher draft picks. Leadership, like parenting, is sometimes making decisions that aren't always popular. Did you think you're parents were always right?

  2. Boooo. The Cardinal management has mediocrity with this Marimol deal. He has never done well, even when given good players. It's great to have a buddy as a manager, but that doesn't mean he can do what is needed to improve. I hope he does well, but his past moves have not pointed to pushing the Cardinals to more than a .500 team. Bo again. The Cardinals' management is just interested in putting the team out there and raking in the money. So disappointed.
    .

  3. I don't understand what ownership sees in him. The issues we have had the past few years aren't all his fault clearly, but I haven't seen what he has done to help either. I don't hate the guy and want him to succeed, but why should I think he can? This is the equivalent of not wanting to cut ties on a veteran who is taking the spot a young prospect could potentially flourish in. If Yadi doesnt want to full time manage right now, maybe it makes sense when he is ready in a couple years otherwise I just don't get it.

  4. At the end of the day, if Bloom believes Oli is the best person to help the young guys develop then I trust him. Worst case scenario is Oli isnt good and hopefully in 2 years the players have grown and Bloom decides to higher a new manager. This just feels like a keep things constant move(which i dont mind)

  5. Very surprised by ownership extending him while a lockout transpires. Heff all the Racist Ollie haters. If the dude was white, no one would be calling for his head.

  6. I don't understand the Oli hate. Whitey himself couldn't have done better with the roster and support staff Mo gave him. Let's get the guy a roster and enough people to support them and see how he does I think he's done pretty good with what he has had.

  7. This would have been year 58 cheering for the cardinals I bought tickets for 45 years
I don't live in St Louis never have live in Indianapolis so when I came over it was for 3 games staying in hotels and eating in restaurant
Bloom my wife kids and grandkids thank you because now they choose where we will spend the money and it won't be St Louis

  8. It’s awful, he has not made the playoffs in 3 yrs, the last 2 coaches we got rid of barely missed 2 in a row and we fired them but we’re settling for mediocre with oli

  9. As I have commented in prior posts, I am neither an Oli fan nor a hater. I am a big Cardinal fan and have been for 60 plus years. I believe Marmol’s extension was a premature move on the part of Bloom. I understand the desire for continuity, however I believe there is a large contingent who dislike Oli soooooo much that the low attendance in the 2025 season will be even lower in 2026, unfortunately. I personally believe the 2027 season will never happen; if it does, it will be another rinky-dink season like the last lock-out produced. That, the combined 2026 & 2027 seasons, would produce back-to-back low attendance seasons. I know DeWitt Jr. is dedicated to “staying the course” as far as ownership, which I think is true and commendable on his part. Unfortunately, I do not trust DeWitt 3.0, who has at least one buyer waiting in the wings to purchase the team. With two additional low attendance seasons, I suspect he will be pressuring his father to sell the team. My only hope is that they stay in St. Louis! Here’s to a hopefully good year for our Birds!

  10. We need to be honest as a city, the decline of St. Louis not only baseball but the city in a whole is connected with the cardinals, when we do bad are city suffers and rn it can’t take 3 more yrs of this or we will be forced to leave. I love St. Louis it’s my town but half the people I use to go to games with won’t come bc of the safety or bc the team isn’t playing to expectations. You can’t keep the guy who brought you here and if you do you’re showing that you want to leave St. Louis and go somewhere else

  11. As I posted earlier, this is a very cynical move by Bloom. This gives him the perfect parachute if his rebuild turns into a disaster, He just blames the manager for game time decisions, lack of player development, lack of leadership, whatever. This is all just so we will hear chants of "Fire Oli!" over the next few years instead of "Fire Chaim!"
