I absolutely hate it. David Montgomery never wanted to leave. He never complained under Ben Johnson being the 2nd back. It's just Brad Holmes not wanting to keep him. You didn't even have to pay him. He was under contract for 2 more years?? This is VERY stupid

I think we are going to see more by the Lions. We have 2-4ths, 1-5th, 3-6th and 2-7th round picks this draft.
They are going to package them to move up to round two or three for that secondary depth. We could still see a Crosby deal with the OL depth. Juice was expected to start at Center for Houston this next season.

Sounds like the old Lions management: break up the best running back duo in the league, take two-three years off of Gibbs' career, use another back (who isn't a legit starter) who won't get half of the yards David, and make another team in the league much better at that position. At least they didn't trade him to an NFC team. Whoo hooo! Good job boys. On the up side, Gibbs will be featured more without trying to juggle things so much to keep people happy. Overall, we take a hit this year at RB unless someone comes out of the closet.
Good trade. I liked Monty, but it was good return for him. Business is business. Let the fans have the emotional meltdowns then get back to reality. It's gonna be a fun FA period and draft.

VAKI TIME
After 5 years the Lions have no depth anywhere, inexcusable. Vaki was a 4th round pick, how did that work out? Rebuilding for 60 years
Monty Will be missed but his role was much less last year it makes sense to trade him while he has value getting a 4th and 7th round picks plus a center was a steal for the lions they can now draft a younger replacement for him to compliment Gibbs in the backfield. I expect in FA the lions to look to get Hutchinson some help or perhaps in the draft besides oline help as well secondary help is needed too to improve the defense to many walking wounded last year.
Not mad at the trade, decent return but please don’t think about Vaki playing Rb2. Matter fact send him back to safety
It makes sense he didn’t play as much last year. Couldn’t risk an injury to a valuable asset. We reeeeally needed those picks and the depth at oline is a great swap. Plus we have sione vaki who has a similar build to Monty already. He’s not as versatile as a runner as knuckles but he plays teams for us so he’s more valuable in tha way on our team already.

Good trade are you serious? Gibb’s couldn’t even run the ball well against a good team last season and he was basically by himself. I don’t believe in this Lions team with Brad anymore man!
