BREAKTHROUGH: Utah Jazz Youth SHOWS PROGRESS—Isaiah Collier’s and Kyle Filipowskki DEMAND Attention

Utah Jazz fans searching for hope amid recent struggles will find silver linings as young prospects flash major growth. Can Isaiah Collier, Kyle Filipowski, Cody Williams, and Brice Sensabaugh elevate their games enough to fuel the Jazz’s playoff ambitions? Progress in pick-and-roll execution, improved shot selection, and rising defensive impact mark clear development for this emerging core—even as on-court results have raised doubts about rotation readiness.

David Locke breaks down advanced metrics that spotlight Filipowski’s improved isolation defense and Collier’s upgraded pick-and-roll efficiency, while spotlighting Williams’s surge at the rim and Sensabaugh’s evolving offensive profile. Key debate centers on whether these young Jazz players can bridge remaining gaps in their games—especially defensively—in time to help Lauri Markkanen and Keyonte George return Utah to playoff contention. With talent evolving and big questions looming, is genuine progress underway for the next great Jazz squad?

  1. Nothing pisses me off more than when someone calls David Locke a company man. He is a fan, first and foremost. He shares our ups and downs and everydayers have heard him express the entire gamut of emotions. He’s respectful of his employment, as anyone would be. My guess is that everyone who says he is a company man still approve of Donald Trump. Take a look in the mirror cause no one can be any more of a company man than yourself. 🙃

  2. Collier has to defend the pick n rolls n pops with Love, Kyle and sometimes with Nurk, yeah you will get exposed. I believe Collier will be a very good player with better teammates around him. He is more ready than any of our youngsters.

  3. Honestly all 4 of them have shown massive improvements in the biggest question marks last half the year, without any of our core guys there. If Brice and Flip can keep up that iso defense when we've got our full compliment of players around them, they're rotational players easily. I'm not completely sold on Collier or Cody as rotational players, but they've improved a lot, and still are 2nd year guys. If any of the 4 make the year 3 leap like Key did, we're set, and there's a non-zero chance all 4 make the leap. And that'd be massive

  4. What’s not to approve of? The best economy in decades? Border secure? Etc… could go on and but why do have to get political?
What’s wrong with Locke being a company man? The Jazz pay him! Why wouldn’t he be? He is still awesome! And though you don’t have to agree with all his takes they are always well thought out and interesting! I always prefer listening to him and Ron when I watch the games.
