Cowboys news on the Donovan Ezeriuaku surgery. He reportedly had it about 5 weeks ago to repair a torn hip labrum that he played through. Will miss most of the offseason program, but should return for training camp.
Nick Harris reports the Cowboys & Pickens’ camp haven’t really had contract negotiations. The Cowboys seem willing to wait and see if Pickens shows up to offseason workouts (April 20). A deal doesn’t seem very close and we’re setting up for another drawn-out saga.
In some good Cowboys news, the Brandon Aubrey saga at the NFL Combine seems to have been blown out of proportion. Per Nick Harris: Cowboys have offered a market-setting contract (both before the season and more recently). Contract negotiations have not been tense (despite other reports). Nick Harris expects a Brandon Aubrey deal to get done soon, maybe before the RFA deadline on March 11.

The Cowboys will make more moves this week to free up cap space. There are easy ones with simple restructures. But a more complicated one with Kenny Clark. Kenny Clark is due an $11 MM roster bonus that becomes GTD on March 13th. A restructure would save $9.6 MM but an extension could make it more than $15 MM. Expect that as opposed to a release of Clark.

The sooner a deal gets done the better because all this drama and time is going to sour the relationship between Pickens and Jones just like it did with Parsons to where they're just going to want to get rid of him and he's not going to want to play for us do anybody wanting or preferringto come back to a seven win team should be signed immediately before he changes his mind if it was me I would say yeah they got a new DC but I'd rather go to somebody who has a track record of winning what's the Cowboys haven't had the past 2 years I really would love to have him back and I think the Cowboys need to have him back otherwise the dangerous offensive threat is gone will be back to just all the balls going to lamb every time and don't get me wrong I love lamb but it's not the same when you have two aces
Pickens has NO leverage. If he misses games next year . . NO ONE signs him long-term ever.

Let's say things go horribly wrong with Aubrey and Pickens then you have to find a top kicker and a top wide receiver I don't understand why the Jones hate their fans and their players making all of us do this every year
