Nikola Jovic on his back injury:
“My back doesn’t feel good. The scan shows I got some inflammation, and one of my nerves doesn’t look great right now. The way my back is structured, I just have to manage the way I prepare for stuff and the way I get ready for games, practice and everything. I have to make sure it’s always ready for any kind of intensity I put it under. My disks are great and I think that’s the most important thing. As the doctor said before, my bones were not strong enough for the load I had. I guess I was really young before to have all that load. Right now, my back is kind of firing up, and I got some inflammation in a few parts. That’s what’s bothering me.”

Im a therapist. Back injuries are serious. If the nerve continues to get aggravated it will take longer to heal and he won't be able to do the things necessary to strengthen the antagonist muscles that will keep the nerve from being pinched. I wouldnt expect him back soon.
I agree. Herro and Powell together are BBQ chicken. The team can withstand one at a time but not both…way too much to overcome defensively.
Jovic sucks anyway
MCROBERTS 2.0
I'm not surprised with the Heat giving bad contracts coz the front office is horrible!
Once again, the Heat have buyer's remorse with the players that they have given a contract. They are now stuck with him until he build his value back, and i was wrong about him being a future high level talent. Only the Heat are the ones that gets to eat a 💩 sandwich in this type of situation, which pisses me off.😢
This is why we are ending 7/8
It sounds to me like they had him bulk up too much. He is not a natural 5, but they have been constantly pushing to play there since his rookie season. They need to let him slim down a bit, and play the 4. Otherwise they will ruin him. If they haven't already.
Heat made a Mistake signing Jovic to extension, without seeing even 1 producive season from him. He never earned it. KJ is a Rookie, and he plays better. Part of the problem, is he's a Tweener. He doesnt play any particular position well.
It doesn't have to be a disaster, if Miami tell him to stay in Miami this off-season, and work on strengthening condition on his back and overall body. Him working on a midrange, post up, and finishing around the basket. He's not doing well, because his strengths are playing big not none stop running up and down the court.
Miami FO sucks
It’s really so disappointing bc physically speaking he could be a very solid role player and has show it at times but he’s in his own head more than not and recurring back injuries at this age is pretty concerning bc this is what started happening to Ben Simmons and that dude was a #1 pick and an all star and is now out of the league already at 29
The heat should give that contract extention to JJJ instead of NiKo.
Retirement
Niko 'disapointment'
Jovic – From breakout year to breakdown. I agree with the Power/Herro flip of the coin situation. Pick one or the other or scratch both and start fresh. Neither can hold a court as a solo star so I'm picking neither.
New line up for next season – Jakucionis, Parsson, Bam, Ware and Wiggins. Our defence improves and we can start the fight for points. That's Heat Culture. Not the small ball mentality. Jaquez can come up with scores off the bench.
Niko has not played 6'10" big,. When he drives to the hoop, he is shooting up from under the rim, it's like he has NO spring or lift, he should be shooting down from over the rim, he has no confidence when he drives the lane, he will pass it out 9 out of ten times, I had high expectation going into this year, so maybe it is his back affecting him.
All you do is criticize. Everything with you is negative. You are no fan of the Heat.
Niko and a first for Andrew Nembhard
