Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has renewed her beloved habit of trolling teammate Sophie Cunningham, delivering a brutal one-liner on her latest Instagram post.

The exchange occurred after Cunningham, known for her glamorous social media presence, shared a series of photos recapping her month of February.

Clark, who has over 3.6 million followers, wasted no time jumping into the comments of the post to playfully question Cunningham’s day job.

‘Do u play basketball,’ Clark sarcastically asked, prompting a quick-witted response from the 29-year-old.

‘Do you want me to send you my highlight reel?’ Cunningham swiftly fired back.

The two became close last season in Indiana, with Cunningham even earning the enforcer tag after a viral moment where she stepped in to defend Clark during an on-court altercation.

Despite their obvious chemistry, fans were largely deprived of seeing the pair together on the court for much of the 2025 season due to a string of unfortunate injuries.

Caitlin Clark’s sophomore campaign was cut short after just 13 games as she battled recurring soft tissue injuries, including a right groin issue and a bone bruise that ultimately sidelined her.

Before her season ended prematurely, the 2024 Rookie of the Year was living up to the hype, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5 rebounds per game.

Cunningham’s season met an even more abrupt end in August when she suffered a torn MCL, finishing her year with averages of 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds across 30 appearances.

The injury was a particularly tough blow for Cunningham, as it occurred just before she hit unrestricted free agency this spring following her one-year deal with the Fever.

While the Phoenix native has expressed a desire to return to Indiana, the front office must now navigate the salary cap to make that reunion a reality for the 2026 season.

However, there is a looming cloud over the entire league as the 2026 WNBA season faces a potential delay due to a standoff between the league and the players’ union.

The two sides are currently locked in a tense negotiation over a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, with a critical deadline of March 10 fast approaching.
