Long Time Seahawks Fan: He is a fine running back, but succeeded much because of how the Seahawks used him through the year including the rotating him with Zach and letting Zach usually take the tough yards in the Red Zone) and because of the o line that he has now. I will miss him if he goes, but the running back that replaces him will have a much better chance in playing in a Super Bowl, than Ken will have with any team that he goes to. There are other Running Backs at a lower price that would do just as well in the Seahawks offense as Kenneth did!
K9 is a great back but when he was hurt this year Charbonnet filled in we didn’t miss a beat, he balled out. Dude is also an amazing back.
Let him shop around is a fair deal, if no one wants to pay more than what John say he can pay him, then stay. Give him a chance to get paid more.
Seattle tackles are already extended. Someone help with his shownotes
there is a tax on winning & everyone else wants your players & coaches. K9 being the SB MVP, his value went above what GM wants to pay.
Super Bowl MVP one day. The next day they drop you! That's cold, dude!
John doing K9 a huge favor by letting him test FA at his highest value: thats what all player especially RB wants.
John rarely uses the franchise tag. He will let them shop and go from there.
As a Seahawks fan, it'll hurt watching leave, but K9 has to be let out to richer pastures. It's not a question of want, but what it would come at the cost of. JSN and Spoon alone will eat up most of the cap space we have. You probably want to keep at least one, probably two, of Bryant, Woolen, and Jobe. Dre Thomas and Shaheed are also on the open market and feel like they're gone too.
Seahawks downfall 🙏
Everybody questioned John after the Wilson trade, How'd that work out?
Charbonet knew exactly what he was doing. Always pick up the ball just in case. Evidently the boy genius in LA hadn't taught any of his players that.
Both Walker and JSN are getting paid.
Come to Denver KW3.
Recency bias at play here, Rich. We all know the good K9 provided in the last 1/4 of the season, but let's not forget his injury history, and his use as a rotational back. Add his liability as a pass blocker, and there's no way you tag a player like that. I'd love to have K9 back, but it has to be at the right price. JS has basically said the same thing.
Take one second and really think about this one!!!!!!! John Schneider is the one who has been chosen to question the upcoming off-season decisions???!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 They couldn't win with Darnold, they couldn't get past the Rams, they were not going to beat the Niners after they beat the eagle's in Philly…………. STFU and do yourself a favor, TALK ABOUT ANY OTHER TEAMS!!!!!!!
franchise tag only really makes sense for quarterbacks like CJ stroud where there have been flashes of franchise qb but not consistency. and that’s only because a modern franchise qb contract is like $55M per season.
Yeah well Rich said the Seahawks would be last in the division and have 5 wins wtf does he know???
The national media that very clearly did not watch many Seahawks games during the regular season are all talking about Walker being a must-sign for Seattle. That's entirely because he won the Super Bowl MVP and that's the same rationale that will probably result in another team overpaying for him. Looking at his full body of work he is not worth a big contract. This season he was platooning the running back position with Charbonnet. Now Charbonnet got hurt and might not be available for the start of the season which makes it a bit of a problem if K9 leaves. That's a hole that will need to be filled but it doesn't necessarily have to be filled with a big contract for Walker.
That sounds like an ideal situation for using the franchise tag but Seattle rarely uses it because it damages the relationship with the player. So John is going to make an offer and see if some other team will overpay and will let them. And avoiding the franchise tag has a trickle down effect to the other players. Dealing with Walker in an honest and fair manner improves the opinion of the Seahawks in the eyes of other players so you lose Walker today but possibly hang on to or attract other free agents tomorrow. Next year JSN and Witherspoon are due extensions. That is the priority. Those are the truly important guys on the roster. It would be foolish to be restricted on what sort of offer you can make to those guys because you tied up your cap on a Super Bowl MVP that probably only won the award because no single person on the defense stood out and they don't give that award to punters.
John knows that K9 isn't a bell cow back and doesn't deserve over $10,000,000 a year. This year was the 1st year he wasn't hurt. That's because of charbonea.
We can get Aaron Jones for 6 million.
All's Seattle has to do is keep their defense good and Sam Darnold happy.
K9 says he will take 11m per year.
Going to let K9 shop around and then make an offer. He has done that before.
Just think if Seahawks still had DK. How could you afford him and JSN?
Welp, looks like we're drafting Jadarian Price in the 2nd round.
Running backs have the shortest average career length in the NFL, and there is a fresh crop every year. It sucks, but that's the reality behind the low cap number.
Zach Charbonnet is not close to Kenneth Walker’s talent, that’s not up for debate
the whole defense, or the kicker shoulda got it anyway.. set a sb kicking record . 5/5 think he scored 17/29 total pts. walker 0. would have had one but…HOLDING! good guy i like him. but why tag a guy at 14 when he was only making 2.3 per? those tags arn't cheap on the cap sometimes.. . were drafting a rb at #32 im sure.
I would love to see K9 return, but I think he will be priced out of town. Kenny McIntosh was injured this year but he has a ton of burst and I have been wanting to see him too.
Yes. If he was not superbowl mvp we wouldnt have this conversation. Recency bias
Rich believes the Rams were the better team, despite Seattle beating them twice in a month, dominating the Super Bowl, and being superior in every stat that matters towards winning.
I love our Hawks. But letting Walker go is the right move.
When some team gets him and runs the tread off his tires and he’s watching games in street clothes collecting millions the hawks will again look like geniuses like they continue to do time & time again.
The deal that his agent deserves you mean? Agents don’t care about you’re well being or about winning or losing 😅
I really done remember John ever tagging a player.
If some other team pays K-9 they better have a strong O-line crew. Or they will probably have some regrets.
Imagine questioning John Schneider like you somehow could ever be better than him at GM decisions.
the superbowl mvp was Michael Dickson, but you can't vote for punters apparently.
2:34 lowkey tight end is a MASSIVELY underpaid position
In John we trust
John's been shopping at the running back store since Walker got here. Ken's missed a lot of time, and missed a lot of holes running the ball.
I just hope we keep BoBo…. We honestly don't need to pay JSN literally top dollar… And K9 is awesome but our offensive line will make any decent running back look great
Unless youre a top 5 running back… you likely don't get that second contract with the same team
Seattle Seahawks NFL Champions.
Ernest Jones has two words about you fixateing on a properly called 2 point conversion.
K9 walker should go to the raiders with his coach in Seattle Seahawks klint kubiak to the raiders in 2026 and rashid sheeheed to the raiders in 2026
Men bro I missed Chris Carson he should come back in his neck injury retirement in 2026 in age 27 or 28 age in 2026
