  1. UPDATE: Tyler Myers has been traded to the Dallas Stars as of 12:27pm (~90 minutes after posting).

Return for Myers: 2nd rd. pick in '27 and a 4th rd. pick in '29.
Plus Vancouver is retaining 50% on remainder of Myers' contract which makes him a $1.5-million player this year and next.

  2. The way you go on and on about Carter Bear. Like he’s the next Connor McDavid and you have to protect him at all costs because he is be best prospect in the system? Recall last year Larkin being disappointed at Yzerman not getting trade deadline assets. Buffalo has been mentioned as a possible stopping place for Thomas. He goes there, then the Wings are suddenly further behind the Sabres.

  3. If we got Faulk, we could always flip him for a pretty decent price if he doesn’t want to re-sign at next year’s deadline. Takes the price down if you think that way or you add in his experience helping the development of young D for two hopefully playoff runs this year and next.

  4. The blue line should be the #1 priority. They cannot continue to have Travis Hamonic as the 7th defensemen. The stretch without Edvinsson before the Olympic break should have solidified that thinking.

  5. There’s no reason talk about any other need until this team has 2 legit top 2 centers. If Larkin goes down, the team crumbles, we’ve seen it before actually. A lot is riding on Kasper to develop into a top center as there aren’t even any top center prospects in the system (MAYBE Danny, prob 3C potential).

This is 1 of many reasons why it’s so important to have top 6 wingers that are also natural centers.

  6. If Vancouver isn’t willing to retain at least 3.5m, then no one will be taking Pete off of their hands. Even at that amount it’s a huge risk for any team. Because if he stays on the same path that he’s on now, you’re stuck with him at 8.5 for years. Vancouver management has no clue. Arguably the worst management in the NHL.

  7. They better hope Yzerman don’t trade for Ellas Petterrsson because I just watched him get interviewed yesterday and that dude has an attitude problem. He is sulking like a B.

  8. Brad needs to be the Red Wings "salesman". Wow, I mean he laid it flat out with that Robert Thomas sales pitch. Not only am I on board with it, but I'm probably taking that used Chevy too, lol.

  9. Very good evaluation of the players the Wings should pursue at the deadline. Not as much thought went into which current players and prospects are worth the most on the trade market. The number one and two trade chips that Detroit are Cossa and Augustine. Carter Bear was mentioned repeatedly as if that's who other GMs are asking about. Lets not forget that he is coming back from a season ending injury and his resume is slight compared to Plante certainly less than either Danielson or MBN.

  10. If we have a chance to acquire in the off-season players like, Jason Robertson, Auston Matthews, or Zach Werenski, why not just wait and use premium assets on players that are game breakers?! Cause none of the players we are linked to are game breakers like the players we could get if we knew for sure Yzerman this off-season would use the assets on the players mentioned above..

  11. Honestly I don’t think that Yzerman will do anything at all. I don’t think Yzerman is willing to deal any of the prospects, and to be honest I don’t think he will be willing to part with draft picks either. I hope I am wrong.
