It could absolutely be nothing but I did find it interesting that he’s been sat out 2 games in a row now. Know they are saying he has illness but we were told a rotation would be taking place, maybe we sitting him till deadline as injury protection?
Kovacevic has a NTC so he’d need to approve of this potential trade.
Fitz has no idea how to run a fucking team. Give a guy a questionable contract after not even 2 full season, and then want to trade him a year after…Â

Year 1 into a 5 year contract and we’re already shopping him lol. Classic flip flopping fitz, trying to undo his previous moves because he knows he swayed too far into defense last year, and having this RD logjam continue all the way up to now.
FWIW, I do hope they do this. Kovy isn’t a bad player but signing him for 5 years and a 3 year NMC all off a likely 1 year magic run was a joke. We need the defense to prioritize moving the puck and helping our offense out again, not having 4 grenade handlers. Figure out the Dougie and Nemec situation this offseason, hopefully under a new GM who actually has a vision
