The Miami Dolphins have agreed to trade safety Minkah Fitzpatrick within the division to the New York Jets, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Monday, per sources.
Miami will get back a 2026 seventh-round pick for Fitzpatrick, who will sign a three-year, $40 million deal with the Jets upon completion of the trade.
The AFC East swap cannot become official until the start of the new league year on Wednesday.
Fitzpatrick, 29, spent the 2025 season in Miami following six seasons in Pittsburgh. New Jets defensive coordinator Brian Duker coached Fitzpatrick last season with the Dolphins.
