He showed so much heart. So much grit. Went against the absolute best and didn’t back down. And he captured the hearts of not only a nation, but the entire world. This is a good example of how one man can make a difference. One man can inspire the whole world.

  1. I loved how the Japanese dugout and stadium gave him a standing ovation.

For an electrician, he sure throws good.

  2. What history did he rewrite? I don’t get it. All the respect for an absolute legend – no need for unnecessary emellishment.

  3. “Guys back in the day were only good because they were facing electricians”

    The electrician:

  4. Pretty crazy to be some electrician in your day job but just so happen to be one of the relative handful of individuals on the planet who has struck out Shohei Ohtani at the peak of his powers

  5. As a 39 year old electrician this gives me hope that one day I could throw 4 2/3 innings in the WBC

  6. Sorry, thanks to the Rockies I’m only in the fringe of baseball now, here’s my question….

Is this guy about to get a contract? Or is 5 shutout vs Japan not as good as I think it is….

  7. This is why I love baseball. You get stories like these. Dude just showed anybody can perform well, no matter how big the name is that you’re going against

  8. Years from now, a baseball fan will be traveling through Prague and exclaim, “Holy shit, that’s Ondrej Satoria!” much to the confusion and bemusement of the locals.

  9. Wow, Ondrej Satoria truly embodies the spirit of a legend proving that one man’s passion can inspire the entire world!

  10. Here’s the correct Czech spelling for copy/pasting (for those without easy access to the [ ř ] character):

    Ondřej

And all-caps, if you would like to yell:

    ONDŘEJ

  11. I literally got emotional seeing him take in that standing ovation. Dudes a fucken legend! He deserves all the praise.
