ACCOUNTABILITY: Hunter Greene’s Elbow Drama Raises HARD Questions of Cincinnati Reds Organization

Hunter Greene’s timeline for return is July. Everyone is wondering why the Cincinnati Reds didn’t get this taken care of sooner and if the blame falls on Greene concealing key details or on the organization for mishandling yet another important injury.

Also, Noelvi Marte has had a lackluster start to Spring Training but that shouldn’t change his season. Plus, the answer to how to evolve the World Baseball Classic is with the Summer Olympics.

  1. Unless he's tearing cover off⚾Marte needs to go to AAA to work on D…. Plenty of options of experienced OF on roster to cover for a month

  2. That was one of the underlying problem areas that the Reds would have is the outfield defense in terms of proven reliable options, not necessarily moving different players around from position to position on the diamond but identifying, drafting, and developing home grown outfielders within their own system. The Reds will have to do a much better job of finding players that are naturally better fits for the outfield.😮🎉😮🎉

  3. Not only would MLB need to shut down during the Olympics, they should also split the season right in half. I know a lot of fans may not want that, but there is no window like the 2028 season to introduce this going forward. They already use this method in the minors so let's bring it to the majors.

  4. Why are you guys hell-bent on blasting the front office? Greene addressing the fans directly does not mean he doesn't trust the front office. It means he don't trust the media. That's you guys. You were hyper critical of the front office until they signed Geno and then had to audacity to say they had a fantastic off-season afterward. You made judgments before everything was done. Since then, you've kept it positive, which was nice for a change. Can we get back to that?

  5. The Reds will be as good or better without Greene, just like last year . He'll be back off and on to pitch his 100 or so innings for this team. I often think Hunter would have made a better closer.

  6. complete incompetence. All high end pitchers should be evaluated after season to determine health of pitching arm. loose a 100 million dollar pitcher to save 500 on an MRI.

  7. Only one person knew for sure about his own elbow!!! This also is a sad truth on the LONG history how the Reds handle injuries… and NO ONE takes accountability!!!! Plenty to blame!!!!! Not acceptable!!!!

  8. I never understood why they took baseball out of the Olympics. It was in the 84 games and fun to watch a young B-Lark and Mark McGwire and Will Clark before they were MLB stars.

  9. Marte has options. No big deal. If he does struggle, give Hinds a shot. Bring up Hector for a bit. Benson should start in AAA, if then call him up. We’ve got enough dudes to not be concerned.

  10. YOU 2 ARE LOSERS. FRONT OFFICE IS LYING.. WHEN GREENE WAS SENT FOR A MRI[LAST WEEK]. THE REDS[TERRY AND FRONT OFFICE] SAID HE WAS HURTING AT END OF SEASON. WHY DID THEY NOT HAVE HIM CHECK OUT THEN. BUT BEING LOSERS FRONT OFFICE IS, THEY WAIT TO SPRING TRAINING

  11. So, when it comes to injuries, especially for pitchers, you don't want to go under the knife every time there's a problem or discomfort. You want to allow the body to heal itself. A steroid shot can help increase the healing process and reduce swelling and inflammation in injuries. So, the idea is that during the off-season the body will heal during the long time off. Also, you can't discount hunter Greenes'role in all this. Players have to be responsible for themselves. If Hunter isn't being honest in how he feels, or if he's denying treatment, which he has every right too, you can't blame the doctor. Plus I guarantee, spring training isn't the only time these guys are throwing before the season starts. These guys are still training and still tweaking things in the off-season. If there was a real issue, then Hunter would have been feeling that long before spring training. So you can't really blame the doctor. Also, this guy is injury prone. That's just something the reds will have to live with.

  12. Posted this before…again for those who didn't see it on a previous video. Grain of salt….and please be skeptical. I'm not connected, at all. But I know a guy, yes I get it, who claims to have had a conversation with one of the Red's doctors and the phrase "typical Hunter" was used in regards to him overthrowing in the off-season. He was seeing the doctor as his kid is a D1 pitching prospect having elbow discomfort. Just saying it is interesting considering the toughness questions that were circulating.

  13. Lost respect for the olympics when they let people born as men compete in women's sports. I didn't even know the olympics had started. Don't know do not care. Same for nfl, nba..too much gambling and that means stuff is shady.

  14. I have been an MRI tech for 20+ years. An elbow MRI is 20-40 minute non-evasive procedure. Soreness in his pitching elbow and previous TJ surgery. Yes an injection is great however, a simple MRI in mid October gives them a wealth of information instead of a hope and a prayer. This ~14 week delay from starting could have been avoided. IMO whether the specialists recommended an MRI, Greene himself should have insisted.

  15. I firmly believe that Hunter Greene is doing every little thing he can to preserve his arm for his next "very lucrative" contract with one of the larger markets. He will do all he can to pitch some meaningful games at the end of the year to keep his value up. He is putting his future ahead of the team and its hard to blame him but his focus is his next journey, not Cincy. Maybe it will be good thing since he will be fresh for a playoff push. Our pitchers are awesome, even Williamson will be very productive. Dont fret yet!
