Raleigh looking at this in disgust rn
That’s what happens when you have respect for other players and don’t have your head up your own ass.
Cal Raleigh right now:

That Australian catcher probably confused how DR won after hugging
Caribbean beisbol fancams is the new thing
I mean it helps that both teams are in already.
Game respects game. Look at Ohtani getting the Czech team autograph. When you are good you want to compete and build people up. When you are insecure you want to demean and tear people down.
A lot of this is normal, but that dap at home plate was absolutely to poke fun at Cal. I’m all for clowning team USA at this point.
I think that’s way more than respect to be honest. It’s baseball family stuff.
Love this 🙏🏽
Cal Raleigh is an absolute weirdo for what he did
The baseball gods are pleased
These cats just love baseball.
Venezuela and the Dominican Republic have always been very close countries, and that’s reflected in the way both teams treat each other. It’s not playing against a rival, it’s playing against a brother.
This tournament needs a good sportsmanship award
DR winning it all on vibes alone.
Song is WILLIS – I think I like when it rains.
They’re great live as well
Love seeing this.
Vladdy sliding into 2nd like he’s still on standard time:)
Yeah but Arraez is like a golden retriever and he just loves everyone.
arraez and machado were also former teammates
This game is a battle (it’s not) and they are all warriors (they’re not) and thus you must hate your opponent (you don’t have to).
Latin dudes are very touchy feely

That game last night was one of the most fun games I’ve watched in a long time. Extreme passion, extreme sportsmanship. Loved it.
F’in Tubi wouldn’t work last night and I couldn’t watch.
Cause this is what baseball is really about: HAVING FUN!!! Venezuela is one of our traditional rivals with Puerto Rico and we *respect* them! Even in the stands, I was chopping it up with a Venezuela fan and gave him my plantain as a sign of respect after our win.
God, the WBC is beautiful
Cal Raleigh in November: Beloved Catcher with funny nickname
Cal Reigh in March: Clowned Upon for being a Big Asshole
I know Will Smith backed Cal up when Smith was asked what he thought, but I wonder if he’d shrug off Ohtani who is notoriously polite and respectful greeting the opposing team?
almost thought the Venezuela cap was meant to go with the DR jersey for a minute, the colors fit pretty well
Is only a game, why you heff to be mad?
I respect both mentalities.
I love seeing players showing respect and empathy for one another. The handshakes and goofing off are heartwarming.
I also love heated rivalries and competitors with that cold approach. They both have their place here
Every other team is having a blast and USA doesn’t even know if the tournament started or not.

Im Dominican. Born in the US. A while back, there was a pretty big fire in the mountains in the DR. My uncle said the first ones to show up was Venezuela with a gang of firefighters to help out the Dominicans. People don’t forget things like that.
