Can’t win games when the entire team is crawling out the gates
islanders not playing for 60 mins and only showing up in 3rd period will be this teams downfall as season goes on
Frustrating loss. They have to improve in the first, they can’t come back every game. At least everyone chasing us lost yesterday.
All class at the end, nice to see.
Sometimes the other guys steal one.
That rule about the same player doing two separate penalties is bullshit. Have someone else go to the box…
I will say now I’m worried about tomorrow because the team is gonna be gassed
After a 3rd period like that, I consider it a W. That was actually pure Insanity domination like I dont think ive ever seen this team do.
Probably my least favorite islanders game I’ve ever watched
Makes you think if they ever make a rule change extending the game to match the time left in a power play. If team with PP scores, OT starts right away, if PK team score game ends.
bummer. since coming back from the break we looked like ass to start the game. not even bad. ass. 4 on 1 constant breakaways. i get as a goalie it stops with you, but also the 3 goals we gave up in st louis and tonight are something you cant demand a goalie to save. shore up the first period and we would look like monsters, but man. frustrating to see in such a tight race to the finish.
if they played the entire game like the 3rd period and lost, I’d have no problem with it at all.
I kinda hope Shaefer said something about being younger than Kopitars career.
They better play the next 60 minutes like the last 20. They never seem ready to start games.
Start better and we don’t have to have crazy 3rds. Still need scorers. Exciting game but extremely frustrating. It’s been a month of slow starts. Roy needs to figure out away to have them ready to go
Shaefer just played 29 something minutes and they play again tomorrow night. Don’t get me wrong they need him on the ice but it’s startling to see his minutes
I really thought they were going to do it the way that third was going
Gotta sort out these early 2-0 and 3-0 deficits.
From mid-game on though, they looked incredible.
Sorokin was unreal, Pelech looked great, Schaeffer obviously. Too many close misses, but if they could manage to play like that consistently, man they could be a dangerous team.
You know what, oddly enough I’m more impressed by this loss than some of their wins, I know they were rolling three or two lines at the end there but that was top-tier playoff-worthy hockey by our best guys there.
We’ve had everything go our way so often this season I can’t be too sad at the one game where everything doesn’t go our way, and bad luck from the first sinks us (will have to rewatch but iirc one bad goal against, one fair goal against, and one “not great but enough shots against and you’ll let one of those in” goal against).
Sometimes it’s just not your night
Roy should have the team skating laps as soon as they hit the ice in practice. Start practice the same way you want to start a game
Respect to Rittich for calling the guys back out to send off Kopitar their last game against him
Keep playing from behind eventually that’s gonna happen. Too little too late gotta wake up early in the game.
If Columbus and Boston win their next game, we are out of a playoff spot. That is an unacceptable effort in a playoff race.
Just like that, our playoff odds have plummeted
I am so sick of Carson Soucy he is so awful to watch in person there is no way Isaiah George or Marshall Warren couldn’t kill penalties
Didn’t deserve to win by playing hard for only half the game.
Calgary plays islanders tough dont be suprised if they fall behind tomorrow too.
i will give Darche the benefit of the doubt because he came from a cup team, but this is why you dont hire ppl with no expierence at the position they are applying for. his trades have sucked and he didnt do anything in offseason to improve this team.
Can’t say the boys did not try.
