  1. I know Skenes is pitching and I want to be optimistic, but these past two performances by USA’s lineup inspires ZERO confidence against the Dominican Republic.

  2. Jeff Passan Bot

    38s

    Team USA vs. Dominican Republic.

    Paul Skenes vs. Plátano Power.

Sunday, 8 p.m. ET, in Miami. Winner advances to the World Baseball Classic finals.

It’s happening. And baseball doesn’t get a whole lot better than that.

  3. Nothing says “America” like putting in minimal effort and barely scraping by at something you should handle with ease

  4. 7th inning is going to haunt Team Canada, but very impressed with how they played overall tonight.

  5. Harper and Raleigh are lucky we have a bullpen that’s as lock down as it is, we cannot be playing them vs DR if we want to win.

  6. GGs Canada. Glad we won but I do sincerely believe that the sport is better when Canada is good.

  7. Why is everyone in here such a hater? Game against DR is going to be amazing. Today’s games aren’t an indicator of what Sunday will be.

  8. Thats about as good as we can hope for, good game all around. I did enjoy this Canada team a lot

  9. GG, we weren’t supposed to be here, we did much better than I thought we would lol (if only Toro didn’t throw it away). Proud of the performance, nothing to be ashamed of.

  10. Proud of Team Canada. We had a comedy of errors on defence. Other than that, it was a really great performance against one of the Big Three of baseball.

  11. GG. Team Canada did alright on the scoreboard. They exceed the early expectation as well being in the QF. I’m looking forward for the next batch of Canadian top prospects in the next 3 years.

  12. Amazing game for team Canada. There is no way in hell it should have been this close.

They should be super proud! 🇨🇦

  13. Pretty happy with the team this year all in all.

Best run ever in the WBC and with a squad that frankly never truly came together and gelled. Lots of potential in the future. Would have been in play for the semis with a less unlucky playoff draw.

Maybe next time we’ll have a full team of active professional players.

Had a good time, would WBC again. (go Vlad)

  14. Tried to go to bed, couldn’t. I’m very proud of how well Canada did in the WBC. Hopefully with the Jays trip to the World Series more and more kids will wanna play baseball growing up so one day we can shock the world and win the whole WBC. Nonetheless, my support is always behind my national team, GO CANADA GO!

  15. If you told me 2 weeks ago that Canada would advance past the pool for the first time ever AND face the USA and ONLY lose by 2 runs, i would tell you that you’re screwing with me.

  16. Mason Miller is a fucking radio DJ

“I’m here with you at 102.3, the K on the corner”

  17. Can we talk about Judge wincing and taking like eight seconds to answer when a reporter asked him postgame, “You’ve faced a lot of adversity this week, what have you learned about your teammates through this week of play?”

    Fucking hilarious.

  18. There is an alternate reality where Owen Caissie goes yard for a 3 run shot in the 7th, and Tugboat gets the save. I wish I lived in that reality.

  19. Solid effort from team Canada. Always knew where we going to lose but keeping it respectful loss is what I could ask for.

Unless I got it wrong  Canada gave up zero home runs this tournament. Which is a massive achievement given how bad pitching in particular has been in the past
