Let’s not do this. Let’s just enjoy the tank and look forward to next year, lets not reminisce for McMann because in no way should The Leafs have been paying a guy who’s 29 5×5 when his main attribute is speed which will go away by 32.
Good for him. I’m too fed up with the current state of the team to be bitter over knowing McMann is playing well elsewhere.
I’m personally super happy they traded him – wish they could have gotten more but glad he’s gone.
IMHO selling him this year is selling him at his absolute highest value, he may be able to repeat this seasons performance next year but after that I think it’s all down hill for him and 2 yrs from now no one will ever think of him.
Great guy – enjoyed his time here as a leaf – but he’s approaching 30 and his entire game is built on speed not amazing hockey iq, not positioning, not net front, purely his speed…. that won’t translate well in the coming years as he ages.
he has all the tools to light it up in the right usage, not surprised.
the guy is streaky as hell, but hes got a great shot insane speed and size. he will score 30+ for sure if he gets put in positions to succeed
this is just the tip of the iceberg. Everyone knows once matthews leaves he’s gonna be hart trophy nominee again.

We, as a fanbase, need to stop obsessing over this type of stat. It’s embarrassing.
I couldn’t understand that trade especially when they kept Dakota Joshua….
Recalled this from overdrive in 2022. Listen to 8:25 onwards.
I don’t miss him at all, he wasn’t doing shit for the Leafs! He showed only glimpses of being a good player but also shows that he’s very inconsistent and has several cold streaks throughout a season making him a gamble in the lineup. I for one wanted him to be traded.
His first game with the leafs was a night to remember…. Hat trick if I recall. Such high hopes
The leafs deserve this. The worst managed Hockey team around.
The second coming of Ilya Mikheyev.
Ppl on this thread are killing me. Miss him so much? Really? Guy was a ghost.
I think the “WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING!!!!” crowd is going to find out that trading away assets for poor return is always the shittiest decision a team could ever make. The Leafs would have been better off resting everyone, playing the marlies night in and night out, and changing up the coaching in the off season. Now we’re going to watch McMann and Laughton be exactly the players we need, but for other teams.
Reactive fandom is the worst kind of fandom.
When you do not play with Rielly you succeed. This is not a Leaf issue it is one player. His complete collapse as a player this year has rippled into every other player. As humans you cannot give the same effort for a long time seeing a complete level of incompetence or accountability for a colleague you work with who makes multiples of your pay. Every sub 5 million player sees Rielly at 7.5 and just quits trying. It really is that simple this year. Bench Rielly or tell him to take the rest of season off and we might not lose again the rest of the year.

And an assist. But who’s counting.
The performances of Minten, Laughton and McMann after leaving Leaf all tell a story of Leaf… lol
Tbf he was up and down here. It’s probably another victim of our meat head coach.
Is that 3/3 for players traded off the leafs who immediately look so much better on their new team?
How they found a way to make their talent look as bad as they did this season is incredible really
lol was the second goal empty netter or no
I wore his jersey to the buffalo game tonight, he did it for me
Par for the course as a leafs fan. Wish him all the best but it’s a tale as old as time
Lol we knew this was a guarantee .
I miss Kyle
And all these former players are going to score goals on us in the future haha
It’s Hyman all over again
They’re not actually playing him at C right, that’s just the state tracker being wrong I assume?
[Minten](https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/s/PVhEt0Dch4) was the only player to score in nine rounds of shootout. Do not let Treliving trade ANYONE else ðŸ˜
