Want to know what’s happening in the FC Barcelona Presidential Elections? Well this is the place to come for all the news at it happens on this very important March 15 (all times Central European Time). 

3.20pm. Handball players Oscar Grau, Luis Frade, Aleix Gomez and ⁠Tim N’Guessan vote. 

2:55pm. José Ramón Alexanko, director of Youth Football and a former Barça players casts his vote 

1:40pm: Deco, Barçs Sporting Director, Bojan Krkic, football coordinator, have also voted ahead of today’s Barça v Sevilla at 4.15pm CET. 

1:30pm: Josep Cubells provides the stats after the first four hours of voting. So far, 21,978 members have voted, equating to 19.19% of the total membership.

Turnout after four hours of voting

1.26pm: Presidential candidate Joan Laporta has voted amid a crowd of reporters and photographers.

1:05pm: Dídac Plana, goalkeeper and captain of Barça’s futsal team, is also present at the voting tent: “The elections are being experienced with joy. Everyone’s desire to build the Club is very important. You see just how big Barça is. We’re very happy to take part. Barça belongs to us, to the members, and it’s a celebration.”

1:00pm: Josep Cubells, current vice-president and spokesperson for the Board of Directors, votes in these elections. “We hope participation will be as high as possible and we encourage all members to come and vote. They are the owners of the Club.”

 

12:50pm: One of Barça’s futsal goalkeepers, Miquel Feixas, has just voted: “You see families arriving and there’s a positive atmosphere. Anything that involves voting is good.”

12:47pm: Danny Cruyff, widow of Johan Cruyff, also casts her vote.

12:45pm: The Right Honourable Jordi Pujol has exercised his right to vote in the FC Barcelona elections.

12:42pm: The general manager of Barça basketball has also cast his vote during today’s proceedings.

12:30pm: FC Barcelona presidential candidate Víctor Font has already voted, surrounded by the media covering the day. “It’s a special day. I’m very excited. We are a unique club in the world and days like today fill me with pride,” said Font.

 

12.13pm: Former player and coach Carles Rexach has also visited the ballot boxes.

12.10pm. Former captain and coach of FC Barcelona Xavi Hernández casts his vote.

11.58am. CEO of FC Barcelona, Manel del Río, exercises his voting right. 

11.55am. Héctor Fort, on loan from Barça at Elche, is next to vote

11.20am. Barça Women’s Laia Aleixandri has voted.

 

11.10am Secretary to the Board of Directors Josep Cubells explaims turnout at 11am CET. 7,240 members have voted, 6.32% of the total eligible.

10.50am. Sergio Lozano, Barça futsal legend and current assistant coach comes to vote. 

10.40am. Barça Women star Aitana Bonmatí has voted: “Today I can’t be in La Coruña with my team mates but I am here and that is very important. There are a lot of people and I am proud to be at this Club. You know how I feel about Barça, this makes us different.”

10:12am. FC Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets comes to vote.

10:00am. Marc Ciria, pre-candidate for the presidency, casts his vote. “It’s a day of democracy” he says. “And I want to ask the members to come and vote. This should make us feel very proud.”

09:41am. President Rafael Yuste exercises his right to vote. “From the club we want as many members as possible to come and vote” he said. “It’s a very emotional and special day.”

 

09:36am. Good turnout in the first half hour of voting. The first participation figures will not be available until 11:00.

09:30am. Youssoupha Fall, FC Barcelona basketball player, casts his vote.

09:25am. Former FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has just exercised his right to vote. What sets us apart from the big clubs is this celebration of democracy” he said. “I want to encourage all members to take part. Voting is our right and it is very important.”

 

09:10am. At 09:00 the polling stations in Girona, Tarragona, Lleida and Andorra also opened.

09:05am. Basketball player Kevin Punter and coach Xavi Pascual were among the first to vote. “This is what makes us special” said Pascual. ” It’s a completely different ownership model from the one found across Europe. All of us who love Barça are proud of it.”

9.00am. Voting is under way in the 15th FC Barcelona presidential elections. 

8.25am. What documentation do you need to vote?

Voting will be personal, secret and free, and voters must present their ID card (DNI) or an official document proving their identity to the chair of the polling station, such as a driving licence or passport. The document must be valid and not expired.

Foreign members only need to bring a valid passport. It is also recommended to have the 2025 or 2026 membership card available (either the physical card or the version in the club app) in order to access the voting area.

Ballot papers that are not the official ones issued by the club, or that are amended, torn or altered, will be considered invalid

8.15am Members can vote at any of the 122 voting tables distributed across the five polling stations:

Barcelona (Spotify Camp Nou): 110 tables
Girona (Casa de Cultura, Plaza del Hospital 6): 5 tables
Tarragona (Palacio de la Diputación, Passeig de Sant Antoni 100): 4 tables
Lleida (Delegation of the Catalan Football Federation, Calle Riu Besòs 8): 2 tables
Andorra la Vella (Congress Centre, Plaça del Poble s/n): 1 table

8.10am. Sunday’s elections the 14,504 FC Barcelona members with voting rights will be able to choose between the candidates Joan Laporta and Víctor Font at any of the five polling stations located in Barcelona (Spotify Camp Nou), Girona, Tarragona, Lleida, and Andorra. 

8.05am. Voting begins at 9am CET and continues until 9pm CET.
